Internal University of Michigan Funding Opportunities
  Call for Proposals: Funding is available for (up to) four (4) pilot projects.

Two projects focused on RNA in cancer:
  • RNA in protein misfolding
  • An open RNA topic

The Exercise and Sport Science Initiative (ESSI) pilot grants will be awarded in the following ESSI Grand Challenge areas:
  1. Wise wearable sensor technology;
  2. Injury prevention, diagnosis, and management;
  3. Individualized augmented reality and virtual reality;
  4. Sports and learning analytics;
  5. Improved physical activity across the lifespan from childhood to elderly.

Eligibility:

Tenured/tenure-track faculty and research faculty (research scientists and research professors) at any rank are eligible to apply.

PIs ideally from multiple units (school, departments, and colleges), bringing collaborative research teams together.

Proposers are encouraged to address how Pilot grants lead to potential extramural (federal, agency, industry, or foundation/organization) continuation funding at the close of the pilot grant period.

Projects with total funding up to $200,000 over two years will be considered. Learn more about this ESSI funding opportunity

Michigan Mental Health Integration Partnership (MIP) Scholars Award

U-M faculty are invited to apply for the MIP Scholars Award, a new funding opportunity for Fiscal Year 2018. The award will support U-M faculty who are interested in implementing and evaluating mental health services or clinical interventions that promote integrated care and seek to improve access to evidence-based practices for lower income and Medicaid eligible populations with behavioral health care needs in the state of Michigan.

The Frances & Kenneth Eisenberg Scholars award will be given to a University of Michigan early career faculty member or fellow who conveys a passionate interest in a future research career that advances knowledge in the understanding of mechanisms and treatments in depressions, bipolar illnesses, or related disorders.

The nominee must be a member of the University of Michigan Depression Center.

The Letter of Intent for AHA Children's Research Network may be submitted via Grants@Heart. Letter of Intent is not required but allows AHA staff to estimate the potential peer review workload and to avoid potential conflicts of interest.  



Institute for Precision Cardiovascular Medicine Funding Opportunities

The American Heart Association Institute for Precision Cardiovascular Medicine aim to advance the science and practice of personalized medicine to improve cardiovascular health through a suite of Innovative Development Grants - two-year grants focused on developing tools that enrich our ability to identify novel approaches and/or tools to analyze data

Data Mining Grants - two-year grant uncovering patterns and knowledge from existing data sets that will inform standards and ontology for current and future cardiovascular disease-based data.

Data Mining Pilot Grants - one-year grant focused in the area of innovation or proof of concepts.
