Counting down to 2017

As 2016 winds down, check off all your to-dos and make sure you’re off to a good start in the New Year!
On January 1, 2017, new accessibility requirements come into effect for businesses and non-profits.  Are you ready?

1 – 49 Employees

 50+ Employees

Do you have 20+ employees?

Your accessibility compliance report will be due in 2017. You will have to answer questions about your compliance with all accessibility requirements currently in effect.

Epilepsy @ Work is an online training resource to help employers make their workplaces more inclusive to employees with epilepsy.

The Pathways to Recreation guidebook is for owners, managers and/or operators of municipal and not-for-profit parks, outdoor recreation facilities and amenities. It provides promising practices that can support successful implementation of the accessible design of public spaces standard.

Accessibility tip

Consider how customers and visitors will move throughout a waiting area.  Providing a clear path of travel between all elements in the room such as a reception counter, literature racks, children’s play areas and accessible seating spaces will make it a better experience for everyone.
