Stir up your power, O Lord, and with great might come among us; and, because we are sorely hindered by our sins, let your bountiful grace and mercy speedily help and deliver us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory, now and for ever. Amen.

Soup, Supper & Study Series

~ The Messiah ~
With the Rev. Andria Skornik
Written by world-renowned Old Testament scholar Walter Brueggemann, this three-session adult study takes a critical look at the four royal titles used in Isaiah 9:2-7: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. In our study, will be challenged to learn how the people understood those titles during Jesus' time and discuss how Jesus did or did not fulfill the titles. We will also reflect on how Christians interpret Jesus as representing that title.
Wednesdays 6:00-7:30 p.m.
in the Parish Hall

Holgate House Giving
Dear All Saints Holgate Christmas Present Participant,
The children of All Saints Sunday School will deliver the gifts to Holgate House, Tuesday December 18th at 1pm.
Please have your wrapped gift under the All Saints entryway tree by Sunday, December 16th..
Please have the gift labelled with the name of the recipient so that it will not fall off. If you will not be able to give the gift, please place the envelop back on the tree in plenty of time for someone else to have the opportunity to give a gift. It is disheartening to me, the children and   their families to arrive at Holgate House without a gift. It is disheartening to the social worker and the recipient as well. I mention this because it has happened the last three years in a row.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity this Christmas and all year round.

Thank you to Rob McMonigal for being St. Nicholas at our annual Godly Play St. Nicholas breakfast!
If you are looking for a worthy cause this Christmas season, here is an opportunity to help out victims of the recent devastating wild fire in Paradise, California.  St. Nicholas Episcopal Church is asking for cash or gift card donations to help those in their community who have lost pretty much everything.  Craig Gibson reached out to St. Nicks and received this response:
Thank you for your inquiry about helping us.  We are just getting our feet under us for St. Nicholas.  We are blessed that our church survived; however, we cannot access our property due to the continuing evacuation orders.  Our church office has been temporarily relocated to St. John's Episcopal Church in Chico, CA.
Most of our parishioners, including our pastor, lost their homes/apartments.  As some of our parishioners are low income seniors, this can be especially challenging.
If you know anyone who wants to help, the two ways in the short term are to make a donation, such as through our parish website.  All donations for the Camp Fire through our parish or diocese, will go 100% to fire victims.  Another way to help is to send gift cards for local stores (Walmart, Target, Kohls, Arco Gas, etc), so that those in need can get the items they need most.  Most of our parishioners have temporary living situations with family or friends in the area or elsewhere in the United States.  Most don't have the space to receive large amounts of material goods, such as clothing at this time, since their space is limited, and they are still needing to be mobile.
Thank you so much for your interest and continuing prayers.  This will be a long period of adjustment and rebuilding.  We have just begun the journey, but we know that Our Lord and our brothers and sisters in Christ are with us throughout.
God's blessings to you this Christmas,
Deon Mangan

Dear All Saints Family,

I will be away from the office for two weeks (the rest of the year!), returning on January 2nd, 2019.

Thank you all so much for affording me this time away to spend Christmas with my family in Ireland where my daughter is currently living.

I feel so fortunate to have found All Saints and all of you. Merry Christmas to you and may the new year bring all good things to you and those you love.
