Cristina Breshears, Administrative Assistant

Almighty God, give us grace to cast away the works of darkness, and put on the armor of light, now in the time of this mortal life in which your Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the living and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Soup, Supper & Study Series

~ The Messiah ~
With the Rev. Andria Skornik
Written by world-renowned Old Testament scholar Walter Brueggemann, this three-session adult study takes a critical look at the four royal titles used in Isaiah 9:2-7: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. In our study, will be challenged to learn how the people understood those titles during Jesus' time and discuss how Jesus did or did not fulfill the titles. We will also reflect on how Christians interpret Jesus as representing that title.

Holgate House Giving
Dear All Saints Holgate Christmas Present Participant,

The children of All Saints Sunday School will deliver the gifts to Holgate House, Tuesday December 18th at 1pm.

Please have your wrapped gift under the All Saints entryway tree by Sunday, December 16th..

Please have the gift labelled with the name of the recipient so that it will not fall off. If you will not be able to give the gift, please place the envelop back on the tree in plenty of time for someone else to have the opportunity to give a gift. It is disheartening to me, the children and   their families to arrive at Holgate House without a gift. It is disheartening to the social worker and the recipient as well. I mention this because it has happened the last three years in a row.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity this Christmas and all year round.

Sincerely,
Laura Axon

We are most grateful for the 78 pledges of $150,022 that we have received in our 2019 Stewardship Campaign bringing us within $9,978 of reaching our goal of $160,000.  We asked you to join us in a leap of faith as we pressed toward this new goal for the upcoming year so that we can continue to support our amazing programs, staff, and having Mother Andria work with us to begin a new vision. If you have not yet pledged for 2019, you can still do so and help us close our gap of $9,978. Pledge Cards are available in the Narthex or from the Church Office if you need one. Please know that your generous contributions to All Saints help make us a vibrant worship community and are truly appreciated by us. Your continued vital financial support is truly a blessing to our All Saints Community.

Hot Meals News ...

Our money from the Pasta Feed is considerably diminished due to equipment needs and because we had to purchase Thanksgiving turkeys and trimmings. The Oregon Food Bank does not receive as much meet, juice, and other items as they did a year ago. Please continue your wonderful support. And, as always, thank you.

A word from your deacon ...

Brrrr, it's cold outside! Can you imagine what it's like to sleep outside?

Please help restock the blanket supply in our St. Francis Closet by donating any old blankets or sleeping bags you no longer need.

On behalf of our homeless brothers and sisters, thank you!

~ Dn. Kathleen
A Thank You from William Temple House ...
On Thursday, November 29, the team from William Temple House took all the food and other items from our overflowing big blue barrel and brought them to their food pantry in NW Portland. Kim, the food pantry coordinator, told us that All Saints is the most consistent church in the area when it comes to donating to the blue barrel.

Many thanks to all who contribute! For more information on the ministries of William Temple House, you can talk to Dn. Kathleen or go to their
website.
