Godly Play
Sunday School with Godly Play
Classes begin this Sunday, September 13, followed by our annual Ice Cream Social in the Parish Hall for all.

Ice Cream Social
This event will be open to the public as part of our participation in "Woodstock Gives Back".  We will be serving ice cream to the public outdoors, as we elicit charitable support for the Oregon Food Bank. Canned food items for donation to the Oregon Food Bank will be accepted in exchange for ice cream.
Mark your calendars!  All Saints has partnered with Oregon Food Bank to participate in the Woodstock Gives Back: Day of Giving event, happening on September 13.  This is a unique and exciting event with over 30 businesses and organizations participating.  Think street fair with a charity promotion angle.

The event will begin at 10 am and conclude at 6 pm.  At this time streets will not be closed.  High school students will be guiding and handing out maps. If you are interested in helping All Saints/Oregon Food Bank out with this event, we could sure use you!  Contact Laurie McDowell or Micky Keiter with your ideas, times available, and questions.  Thanks!

LOOKING AHEAD

Our annual Blessing of the Animals Liturgy will take place Sunday, October 4th at 2:00 p.m. on our front lawn. Please invite your friends, family, and animals to join us!
Flower Fund
You may honor or commemorate the death of a loved one on the week of their passing by making a contribution to the Flower Fund for the closest Sunday. This contribution could be made annually. Special thanks to those who beautify our chapel and sanctuary with their ministry of flower arranging:  Joan Barnes, Nancy Carr, and Francine Titherington.
Memorial Fund

Our parish has a Memorial Fund which, combined with our Columbarium Fund, are used for improvements and beautification of the Chapel and Nave.  Memorial contributions can be sent to the Memorial Fund of All Saints Episcopal Church.  These are recorded in our Memorial Book for posterity by Susanne Bateman.  We appreciate the memorial gifts recently received in honor of Carolyn Kristy and Mary Williams.

ECO-FAITH NOTES

We are living in a world that is absolutely transparent and the divine is shining through it all the time." --Thomas Merton

Featured FAQ's:
Presiding Bishop-elect, Michael Curry

What he wants people to know about him?:
"That Michael Curry is a following of Jesus.  Not a perfect one. I want to be on of his disciples. I believe that the way of Jesus, the way of God's love that we see in Jesus, is the way of life, life that sets us free, that moves us.
I just want people to know that Michael Curry does strive to follow in the way of Jesus and reflect his love and compassion in his life and in the life of the church."

Walking Tour

of Portland and Episcopal Church History

On Saturday October 17th there will be a leisurely walking tour in downtown Portland led by Katie Keller.  We will meet at Trinity Cathedral in the East parking lot at 10 a.m ,  ride the MAX line to Old Town and walk and talk our way through history. It will last about 1.5 hours and we will return to Trinity and possibly go inside for a few minutes.
The tour will be limited to 20 participants.  If it fills and there is still interest, we will plan another one!  There is no charge but you will need to buy a MAX ticket for $2.50/ adults.
If you are interested, please add your name to the sign-up sheet located on the desk top in the front of the parish hall.
