Dear Mother Laura,
You and your ministerial team are a blessing to this community.  Thank you for your service.
Sincerely, Joan Barnes

and....

One of the things I am thankful for this year is the presence of each of you at All Saints and the gifts of your respective ministries.
May you and yours enjoy all the blessings of this Thanksgiving Day.
        --Gaye Benson

Dear Belinda and the Family Choir,
Thank you for honoring the third anniversary of my induction as Rector of All Saints with your joyful rendition of "It's a Good Thing!"  Belinda had written it for the occasion in January 2013, based on Psalm 92.  It is a good thing to give thanks to the Lord and to sing praises to God's name for our life together as the parish of All Saints!
Happy Thanksgiving to all,
Mother Laura

Praying our Visions:
Story, Gender, and Icons of the Theotokos

Over the course of three Wednesdays, we will come face to face with four different depictions of Christ's mother, side by side with the hymns and poetry which shape how we 'read' these images.  This class will be a little bit theology, a little bit gender theory, a little bit story, and an inroad into ways of praying with the "visual metaphors" of the Christian tradition.  Taught by Dr. Maria Gwyn McDowell, a member of Trinity Cathedral and scholar of gender, ethics and Eastern Christian traditions.

Soup supper sign-up sheets will be out this Sunday.

Thanksgiving Feasting and Fellowship came early to 102 guests at Saturday's hot meal. A traditional Thanksgiving meal was served and while the guests were eating they were invited to select a hat and scarf made by our Hat and Scarf Ministry. The selection was colorful and given just in time for this week's colder weather. Each of our guests were so appreciative of our work.

On Sunday our Ministry voted to continue the project in 2016. We feel blessed to be able to provide a small gift to make someone's day a little brighter.

Three motions passed at the September and October Vestry meetings are as follows:

1) Our Junior Warden will be obtaining quotes to make the side walk safety repairs on both 40th and 41st. A maximum of $2,500 was authorized, with funding coming as a capital improvement from the annual Endowment Fund potential distribution. (Note: a contract has been issued for $1,200)

2) Ken Meeker was elected to the Endowment Committee to fill the unexpired term of Ken Rupp, who has resigned.

3) The Vestry adopted a No Trespassing Policy. The policy is on file in the office. In summary, the policy states that we do not allow anyone to sleep or camp on our property. We will complete an agreement with the City that gives them authority to  help with trespass matters. For our members and guests, the policy adopts an “observe and call” strategy involving church leaders and the police emergency and non-emergency numbers. Other details involve the ushers, Wardens and Clergy.
