Do We Have Room in the Inn?

Beginning December 6th, Chuck Martin and Marcia Clark will lead a 3-week series on refugees and the United States of America. They have recruited several speakers on this issue.
Come to the Guild Room at 9:15 this Sunday, and the following two Sundays, December 13 and 20. In this climate of fear and miss-information, let’s all climb out of our silos and seek the facts.  There will be time for questions and discussion on this very topical international issue.
Advent Festival of Lessons and Music

This Sunday, the Second Sunday of Advent, at the 10:15 Service on December 6, we will enjoy a traditional service in the manner prescribed in the Daily Office.

A traditional service from King's College, Cambridge, which many consider to be the epitome of Anglican Liturgy, nine lessons are customarily interspersed with appropriate Advent hymns, canticles and anthems.

The Sacrament of Holy Communion, Rite 1, will be administered only at the 8:00 a.m. service.

Advent Soup Supper Series Continues

Praying our Visions:
Story, Gender, and Icons of the Theotokos

Over the course of three Wednesdays, we will come face to face with four different depictions of Christ's mother, side by side with the hymns and poetry which shape how we 'read' these images.  This class will be a little bit theology, a little bit gender theory, a little bit story, and an inroad into ways of praying with the "visual metaphors" of the Christian tradition.  Taught by Dr. Maria Gwyn McDowell, a member of Trinity Cathedral and scholar of gender, ethics and Eastern Christian traditions.

Soup supper sign-up sheets will be out this Sunday.
