The Rev. Kathleen Borsch, Deacon
Dr. James Denman, Director of Music
Cristina Breshears, Administrative Assistant

O God, because without you we are not able to please you, mercifully grant that your Holy Spirit may in all things direct and rule our hearts; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Fr. Bob's surgery went really well and he is recovering comfortably at home. Thank you for your continued prayers.

Fr. Bob plans on returning this Sunday, September 16th!
Naming and Claiming our Ministries Workshop

Are you interested in finding your niche in the Church?
Exploring the many ways of serving God?
Being Christ's hands and feet in the world?

In baptism, we receive the Holy Spirit and gifts for ministry. We also promise to seek and serve Christ in all persons and to respect the dignity of every human being. This is part of our baptismal covenant. This concept is called "4th Day" in Cursillo, "Monday Morning Ministry," and more.

The Diocesan workshop, "Naming and Claiming Your Ministry," is designed to help you explore these concepts. What did we agree to when we were baptized? What does it mean to continue our faith in our daily life and work?

Many of you engage in providing ministry as you move about your week, working and caring for others. This is an opportunity to explore your gifts and to more fully recognize opportunities to carry out God's work and to become even more intentional in your daily life and work ministries.

Make plans to attend this workshop from the Diocesan Commission on Ministry - Committee for Baptismal Ministry Development. Our very own Sonja Miller will be a speaker!

Air Conditioning in the Guild Room!

Hooray and a big thank-you to Chuck Ford (with Jerry Meter’s assistance) for installing the air conditioner in the Guild Room!  For those of us who sat through meetings in the Guild Room on those 90-plus degree days this past summer, we are pleased to know the space won’t be quite so sweltering during the next heat wave!

This is a permanent installation, my friends, so please read the directions on the unit before you use it.  Basically, to use it, you will need to open the window and turn the machine on, then close the window and turn it off when you are done.

for turning out after a last minute plea to get All Saints ready for the Woodstock Festival and the Ministries Council.  The grounds look nicely trimmed and weeded now.  We made a good impression on our community!

As you may have heard, our search for a new rector has been successful. Thank you so much for your prayers, patience, and support as we went through the process. A new chapter in the All Saints story will soon begin and we owe many thanks to our church family, Mtr Laura, and Fr Bob as we begin this exciting next step.

Although we can’t divulge any pertinent information till mid-September, I can tell you that this call was unanimously agreed to by our Vestry. Details have been worked out, the Diocese is thrilled with our choice, and in a just a few short weeks, we will be introducing our new rector.
Thank you, one and all!
Laurie McDowell, Senior Warden
Music is a joyous way for people to offer praise to God and to remember the truth that they have just sung. At All Saints’, music is valued as intrinsic to our parish life. We are blessed to be able to give back a portion of that gift through our several ministries. Here’s a few ways to revel in the gift of music and share your time and talent in the parish family:

Chancel Choir – rehearses Thursdays, 7:30–9:00pm and sings the 10:15am service most Sundays. We are always able to welcome new talent to this vital (and fun!) ensemble. Jim Denman directs.

Family Choir – rehearses Sundays following the main service and sings the 10:15am service on the 4th Sunday of each month. Parents and children can join together in song and celebration! A loving and learning experience for all. Belinda Nissen directs.

Fourth Sunday Ensemble – come all guitarists, string, wind, and brass players to our instrumental ensemble that joins the family choir on the 4th Sunday of each month. Warmup read-through rehearsals precede the service.

Join the growing musical life of All Saints! Please talk with Jim or Belinda following today’s service, or give a call to the Parish Office and leave your name and number.

Coffee Hour Needs Your Help!
Many thanks to our retired coffee hour coordinator, Donna Woodruff.  After many years making sure we enjoyed hot coffee and sweets every Sunday, Donna is ready to move on to other ministries.

ECW is looking for a new person to continue this fine ministry.  Please ask the coffee hour hosts behind the counter how you can get involved. You can be the new coordinator—lots of great helpers willing to train you and/or you can be a coffee hour host along with a partner.  You generally serve one Sunday a month.  This is a great way to get to know folks!

Speaking from experience, I find it a most pleasant task.  I host every fifth Sunday along with Deb Miller after the 10:15 service.  There is a bit of set up before the service, such as making sure there is enough coffee made and the sweets are ready to display—about 9:45 to 10:00 am.  Deb and I then attend the service and after the Eucharist, we head back into the kitchen to set everything out.  I can tell you it is a pleasure to visit with folks as they come through the line after the service!

There’s a bit of clean up to be done after the coffee hour, but it is minimal and does not take long.  A bit of stacking dishes and running the dishwasher, a bit of wiping down counters and tables, and a bit of rinsing out the coffee pots.
Join us, won’t you?

Laurie McDowell
