The Rev. Dr. Robert Williams, Interim Rector
Laurie McDowell, Senior Warden
The Rev. Kathleen Borsch, Deacon
Dr. James Denman, Director of Music
Cristina Breshears, Administrative Assistant

Grant us, O Lord, to trust in you with all our hearts; for, as you always resist the proud who confide in their own strength, so you never forsake those who make their boast of your mercy; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Fr. Bob's surgery went really well and he is recovering comfortably at home. Thank you for your continued prayers.

Fr. Bob plans on returning on Sunday, September 16th!

Adult Forum

Please join us for an informal Gospel-based conversation in the Guild Room continuing this Sunday September 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Episcopalians from all over the Portland area will be meeting at All Saints Church on Saturday, September 15th, for a Ministries Workshop. Unfortunately, after our hot summer, the landscaping around the church is looking a little ragged and needs a haircut! We want to make a good impression on our visitors so we're planning a "tidy up" day on Saturday, September 8th. I will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or so.  If you can come anytime that day or any other day before the 15th, I will have jobs lined up -- you choose what you want do!  Just call me. The jobs are mostly weeding and trimming. If you have hedge trimmers and can bring them, that would be a huge help.
Thank you in advance for your help!
~ Judy Clark,   Junior Warden

Women's Bible Study:

Women's Tuesday Morning Bible Study resumes this Tuesday, September 11, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. We welcome newcomers. Come have a cuppa and cookie on us as we explore the Book of Acts!
As you may have heard, our search for a new rector has been successful. Thank you so much for your prayers, patience, and support as we went through the process. A new chapter in the All Saints story will soon begin and we owe many thanks to our church family, Mtr Laura, and Fr Bob as we begin this exciting next step.
Although we can’t divulge any pertinent information till mid-September, I can tell you that this call was unanimously agreed to by our Vestry. Details have been worked out, the Diocese is thrilled with our choice, and in a just a few short weeks, we will be introducing our new rector.
Thank you, one and all!
Laurie McDowell, Senior Warden
Music is a joyous way for people to offer praise to God and to remember the truth that they have just sung. At All Saints’, music is valued as intrinsic to our parish life. We are blessed to be able to give back a portion of that gift through our several ministries. Here’s a few ways to revel in the gift of music and share your time and talent in the parish family:
Chancel Choir – rehearses Thursdays, 7:30–9:00pm and sings the 10:15am service most Sundays. We are always able to welcome new talent to this vital (and fun!) ensemble. Jim Denman directs.
Family Choir – rehearses Sundays following the main service and sings the 10:15am service on the 4th Sunday of each month. Parents and children can join together in song and celebration! A loving and learning experience for all. Belinda Nissen directs.
Fourth Sunday Ensemble – come all guitarists, string, wind, and brass players to our instrumental ensemble that joins the family choir on the 4th Sunday of each month. Warmup read-through rehearsals precede the service.
Join the growing musical life of All Saints! Please talk with Jim or Belinda following today’s service, or give a call to the Parish Office and leave your name and number.
Naming and Claiming our Ministries Workshop
Are you interested in finding your niche in the Church?
Exploring the many ways of serving God?
Being Christ's hands and feet in the world?

In baptism, we receive the Holy Spirit and gifts for ministry. We also promise to seek and serve Christ in all persons and to respect the dignity of every human being. This is part of our baptismal covenant. This concept is called "4th Day" in Cursillo, "Monday Morning Ministry," and more.

The Diocesan workshop, "Naming and Claiming Your Ministry," is designed to help you explore these concepts. What did we agree to when we were baptized? What does it mean to continue our faith in our daily life and work?

Many of you engage in providing ministry as you move about your week, working and caring for others. This is an opportunity to explore your gifts and to more fully recognize opportunities to carry out God's work and to become even more intentional in your daily life and work ministries.

Make plans to attend this workshop from the Diocesan Commission on Ministry - Committee for Baptismal Ministry Development. Our very own Sonja Miller will be a speaker!

We are gratefully accepting small hygiene products and other useful items year-round.
Currently we especially need shaving cream and razors. Please drop these off with Dn. Kathleen.  Feel free to ask me about current needs!
