O God, the strength of all who put their trust in you: Mercifully accept our prayers; and because in our weakness we can do nothing good without you, give us the help of your grace, that in keeping your commandments we may please you both in will and deed; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Bishop's Visitation

Don't miss this special opportunity to meet our bishop next Sunday, February 19. Our new altar, built by SE Portland craftsman Jon Stump, will be dedicated by Bishop Michael at the 10:15 a.m. service; he will also bless our new meditation garden at 12:15 p.m. outside the Woodstock entrance.

Special thanks goes to the History Committee, led by Lucille Pierce, for their careful groundwork for this new altar, and to Judy Clark, for her leadership in creating our attractive entryway contemplative garden.

Our Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Michael J. Hanley, will be coming to All Saints for his annual visit on Sunday, February 19, 2017. The sacraments of Holy Baptism and of Confirmation will take place during The Visitation, as well as Reaffirmations at the 10:15 service of worship.  I hope we have a wonderful turn-out for this biennial event with the bishop. Don't miss it!

Banking Options Being Explored:
There have been questions following the annual meeting about banking and whether we stay with Wells Fargo or move to another bank due to the concerns around the banks support of DAPL.  As was stated at the annual meeting, the Finance Committee will review our banking options for All Saints and then make a recommendation to the vestry.  Craig Heverly has volunteered to do the primary research about banks, fees, and some specific services we would like to implement to make it easier for folks to make bank transfers to pay pledges or to pay with a card or on line for events such as the crab feed.  The information will be presented to the Finance Committee.  The committee will review the information and then make a recommendation to the vestry.  This will likely take 2-3 months before there is a final decision.  We appreciate the interest and passion of our members and want to make a studied and wise decision on behalf of the parish.

Thank you,
Sonja G Miller
Chair of the Finance Committee
