Almighty and everlasting God, who in the Paschal mystery established the new covenant of reconciliation: Grant that all who have been reborn into the fellowship of Christ's Body may show forth in their lives what they profess by their faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Rest In Peace, Rise in Glory

We bid your prayers for the repose of the soul of Christine McClave, a long-time parishioner of All Saints Portland, who died March 10, 2018, at age 74.  May she rest in peace and rise in glory.  Please keep Chris’s family in your prayers.

Almighty God, we remember before you today your faithful servant Chris; and we pray that, having opened to her the gates of larger life, you will receive her more and more into your joyful service, that, with all who have faithfully served you in the past, she may share in the eternal victory of Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Her obituary can be seen here. Services will be in the Sanctuary at All Saints Episcopal Church, Saturday, April 7, at 3:30 p.m. Reception to follow at the Dougy Center, 3909 SE 52nd Ave.

Senior Warden Report April 5 2018

Hello, my friends.

I hope you had a peaceful and enjoyable Easter weekend. My family and I shared great food, great stories, and lots of ketchup…I mean catching up!

I want to let you know where we are in the search process. Canon Neysa tells us that the applications are arriving daily. The diocese has begun vetting the applicants and will pass their information on to us in the next few weeks. The Search Committee will begin to go through the applications, looking for applicants that best fit our parish. We are considering attributes such as community outreach strength, collaborator as a leadership skill, spiritual, and parish-wide ministry focused. Our first meeting to look at each application the Diocese sends our way will be Saturday, May 5.

The Search Committee is open to your ideas and comments. If you have some things you’d like us to consider, please let a member of the committee know what your thoughts are regarding a new parish priest.  You can talk with us at church or send an email to us, or you can write a note (give the note to Cris in the office and she will get it to us). Keep in mind that we’ll need anything you’d like to share by Monday, April 30 so we can consider your ideas prior to our May 5 meeting.

Search Committee members are:
Deb Miller, Chris Broderick, Steve Dieterich, Laurie McDowell, John Keiter, Jim Denman, and Nancy Carr
Your prayers for the search and the Search Committee are deeply appreciated as we share this transition together.

Thank you,
Laurie McDowell
A Prayer for Special Guidance
Almighty Lord, source of all knowledge and loving kindness, bring your grace upon the  All Saint’s Search Committee as we discern the needs of our parish in finding a new priest to serve as our Spiritual guide. Give us ears to hear, open hearts to feel, and clarity of vision so we might see your light. Shine your light upon us and grant us courage to move forward for your Honor and Glory. Let us all work together in your spirit of love for all who make up our All Saints’ community. We ask this For His Sake, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen

William Temple House Food Collection

The blue William Temple House barrel has been overflowing! Among a total of 135 items, there were 17 jars of peanut butter, 23 boxes of cereal, and 59 cans of various foods. These tightly packed crates (in photo) were sent to the William Temple House food pantry this Thursday. Thank you for your continued support and generosity!

"All Saints Blue Aprons"

If you have some of our blue aprons home to launder or borrowed a couple for a special event, might you please return them, laundered, to the kitchen. We are missing ten of the blue aprons. The aprons are used for Hot Meals, for Sunday Coffee Hour and other All Saints' events. Should you have an apron home because you love having it in your kitchen, that is fine; simply leave $20 with Cris in the office and we will order more of the blue aprons and have them embroidered.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

A word from your deacon ...

The ladies of the Mustard Seed Thrift Shop have been giving socks and other clothing items to the homeless for years. We are now in the process of expanding this ministry and organizing a space that will also include personal care items. We now gratefully accept small hygiene products year-round, from hotel stays, trial size, dollar stores, etc. Please drop these off with Dn. Kathleen.
Thank you.
