Jesus Heals the Centurion's Servant
"And Jesus went with them, but when he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to say to him,
"Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof; therefore I did not
presume to come to you. But only speak the word, and let my servant be healed." Luke 7:6-7.
O God, whose never-failing providence ordereth all things both in heaven and earth:
We humbly beseech thee to put away from us all hurtful things, and give us
those things which are profitable for us; through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

The 30-Hour Famine
Our big project for the rest of the school year is the 30-Hour Famine. Throughout the coming months, the youth of our congregations will be raising money on behalf of World Vision to help combat child poverty and malnutrition in the developing world. As a sign of our commitment to seek and serve Christ in all person, the youth and I will go without food for 30 hours, beginning our fast at noon on Friday the 27th of May, and ending it with Holy Eucharist at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Families of Famine participants are invited to join us at 6:00pm on Saturday the 29th for our meal together to break the fast. We ask that folks bring a dish to share that can be easily digested and/or are high carb- things like rice dishes, pasta, non-acidic fruits, and salads - and help us celebrate all the work that we've done. If you are collecting checks from donors they can be made out to All Saints' Episcopal Church and we will be gathering up all the funds raised into one check that the church will issue to World Vision.

If you would like to add your financial contribution, please make your check out to All Saints Episcopal Church and write "30-Hour Famine" in the check notation.

Prayer for the Earth
I have come to terms with the future.
From this day onward I will walk easy on the earth.
Plant trees. Kill no living things.
Live in harmony with all creatures.
I will restore the earth where I am.
Use no more of its resources than I need.
And listen, listen to what it is telling me.
