Mother Laura returns from vacation this week.  James Denman, Music Director, is on vacation through August 24th.  Jerry Meter is substituting at the organ.

All Church Picnic

Sunday, August 30th, we will all gather at 10:00 a.m. on the lawn of our church for an outdoor Eucharist.  Parish picnic and games will follow!
NAMI Multnomah will be offering a 12-week training course at All Saints starting Wednesday from 6-8:30PM, September 2 and running through Nov. 18th. The course is called Family to Family and is designed for parents, siblings or adult children who have a family member living with a severe mental illness (depression, bi-polar, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders). The National  Institute of Health publishes that this includes 5.9% of all Americans. The National Alliance on Mental Illness(NAMI) is the primary non-profit organization assisting persons with mental health issues and their families. Lack of accurate information about mental illness within families often makes life worse for those affected.
To sign up for this class, call 503-501-2363, Space is limited. There is no charge for the course. If questions, you may also call Chuck Martin, who is on the NAMI Oregon Board.
Parish Directory Photo Shoot Opportunity!
For the next several Sundays after the 8:00 service and the 10:15 service, Jerry Meter will have his camera ready by the side of our Pipe Organ to take photos for those parishioners who missed the first time we took pictures for our directory and for new families and parishioners who have joined our congregation since the directory photos were taken.  Check in with Jerry after the services if you need to have your picture taken.

Bills don't take a vacation!

By donating a vehicle, RV, motorcycle, boat with trailer, or anything that has a title and wheels, you will save yourself the hassle and expense of trying to sell it yourself. All Saints is a selected partner with non-profit Charity Connections.

Charity Connections, through it’s over 200 non-profit partners, takes your donation where it sits. They transport, detail, do minor repairs, appraise and sell all donations. The best part of all is that 60% of the proceeds come back to All Saints. Using their contractors and expertise, everyone wins!

To make a donation, contact Chuck Martin at 503-236-3895,, or g
o to our web page, and type “donate a vehicle” in the search box and follow the instructions.

“Climate change is a global problem with grave implications: environmental, social, economic, political and for the distribution of goods. It represents one of the principal challenges facing humanity in our day. Its worst impact will probably be felt by developing countries in coming decades.”            Pope Francis

Presideing Bishop-elect involving more
Latinos in leadership roles:

"This will be critical.  It's one of the things we've worked on in North Carolina.  It has taken time.
I've been bishop there for fifteen years and people from the Latino community are now taking leadership in the life of the diocese.  It's happened over time in communities of faith."

Mark your calendars!  All Saints has partnered with Oregon Food Bank to participate in the Woodstock Gives Back: Day of Giving event, happening on September 13.  This is a unique and exciting event with over 30 businesses and organizations participating.  Think street fair with a charity promotion angle.

The event will begin at 10 am and conclude at 6 pm.  At this time streets will not be closed.  High school students will be guiding and handing out maps. If you are interested in helping All Saints/Oregon Food Bank out with this event, we could sure use you!  Contact Laurie McDowell or Micky Keiter with your ideas, times available, and questions.  Thanks!
