Mother Laura on Mission Trip

Mother Laura is traveling to Bolivia for two weeks, the first of which is a mission trip with Curamericas Global, working to rebuild a Red Cross Clinic in the town of Montero.  Curamericas Global, partners with communities in Bolivia, Guatemala, Haiti and Liberia to save the lives of mothers and children by providing health services and education. Their international volunteers program, which send work teams to their projects, is a key aspect of this non-profit NGO begun in the 1980's.  Every year, 5.9 million mothers and children die from preventable causes.  They are creating a world where mothers and children live longer, healthier lives free from preventable diseases.  Please keep them in your prayers.
Donald S. McClave, husband of Chris McClave, died peacefully at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 4, 2016 in his residence at Pacifica in Gresham. A memorial service is planned for Don on Saturday, August 27 at 4:00 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church.

May his soul and all the souls of the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Your prayers and cards are requested for Don's wife, Chris, and for their son, Andrew.

Dear All Saints Friends:

Basket-Weaving Class
Wednesday, August 3, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For this Wednesday's class we will be doing cedar and sweet grass baskets. Even if you have not been doing the class so far you are welcome to join us.  Just let Susan Hanks know.  There will be a $10 material fee.
The Hat and Scarf Ministry invites members of our Church to join us in knitting or crocheting hats and or scarves for those in need. You need not belong to the Ministry in order to help with this outreach project.

On November 19, during the Hot Meals Thanksgiving dinner, each of our guests will receive a handmade hat and scarf.
If you would like to join us in this Ministry, in addition to helping others who are less fortunate, it is a good way to use your yarn scraps. There is a greater need for masculine colors rather than feminine colors.

Should you be in need of yarn, needles, or a pattern for simple hats, please contact me by phone or email. Or, catch me at coffee following the 10:15 a.m. service.

Cold weather will be here before we know it. Special thanks to all who want to join us in helping keep others warm.

"There are many blank sign-up spaces on the Altar Flower chart in the Narthex. Perhaps you would like to celebrate a birthday, an anniversary, a special time or remember family and/or friends. Please look at the open blanks on various dates the remainder of this year (two each Sunday) and select a date or dates for your remembrances.
The Altar Guild thanks you!"
