Almighty God, you have given your only Son to be for us a sacrifice for sin, and also an example of godly life: Give us grace to receive thankfully the fruits of his redeeming work, and to follow daily in the blessed steps of his most holy life; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Summer Adult Forum
Please join us for an informal Gospel-based conversation in the Guild Room continuing this Sunday August 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Thank you for your continuous prayers for the search committee this spring and summer. After an extensive search process for our new rector, the committee recommended two candidates for further consideration. The vestry and the search committee engaged in conversation and worship with these two candidates this week. The search committee and the vestry were unanimous in their agreement to offer the call to one candidate.  We aren’t able to announce the candidate yet as they are discussing our offer with their family and will then need time to inform their congregation. Please pray for the candidate as they consider the call to All Saints.

Naming and Claiming our Ministries Workshop
Are you interested in finding your niche in the Church?
Exploring the many ways of serving God?
Being Christ's hands and feet in the world?

In baptism, we receive the Holy Spirit and gifts for ministry. We also promise to seek and serve Christ in all persons and to respect the dignity of every human being. This is part of our baptismal covenant. This concept is called "4th Day" in Cursillo, "Monday Morning Ministry," and more.

The Diocesan workshop, "Naming and Claiming Your Ministry," is designed to help you explore these concepts. What did we agree to when we were baptized? What does it mean to continue our faith in our daily life and work?

Many of you engage in providing ministry as you move about your week, working and caring for others. This is an opportunity to explore your gifts and to more fully recognize opportunities to carry out God's work and to become even more intentional in your daily life and work ministries.

Make plans to attend this workshop from the Diocesan Commission on Ministry - Committee for Baptismal Ministry Development.

We are fortunate to have Lt. Anthony Kollias, of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office coming to All Saints on August 23rd to give a talk on "Security Threat Awareness Training." It's very useful for large organizations like our church to have this preventative training to help avoid security problems. Lt. Kollias has a background dealing with hostage situations and other public safety issues. His talk is very informative and thought provoking. Please try to make time to hear this very important talk.

A Note from Your Treasurer

Thanks for keeping your pledges current during the summer months. Summer is typically a low point in pledges and contributions, so please consider extending help as you are able.  We do appreciate your financial support of All Saints.

There are new volunteer opportunities for coffee servers. Beginning September 1st. I will be retiring as coordinator.  I have enjoyed this position for many years but, now it is time to give this responsibility to a new person. I will continue on as a server. Also, there are other openings for new servers.

I ask other parishioners to give this prayerful thought. This is fun job and an opportunity to meet and greet others new and old. Hosts serve once a month and always with lots of help in learning the job.

A special thanks to all who serve and to those who will in the future.

Donna Woodruff

A word from your deacon ...

We are gratefully accepting small hygiene products and other useful items year-round.
Currently we especially need shaving cream and razors. Please drop these off with Dn. Kathleen.  Feel free to ask me about current needs!

Thank you.

A Prayer for Special Guidance
Almighty Lord, source of all knowledge and loving kindness, bring your grace upon the  All Saint’s Search Committee as we discern the needs of our parish in finding a new priest to serve as our Spiritual guide. Give us ears to hear, open hearts to feel, and clarity of vision so we might see your light. Shine your light upon us and grant us courage to move forward for your Honor and Glory. Let us all work together in your spirit of love for all who make up our All Saints’ community. We ask this For His Sake, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Amen
