Photo Directory Picture Photo Ops!
For the next several Sundays after the 8:00 service and the 10:15 service, Jerry Meter will have his camera ready by the side of our Pipe Organ to take photos for those parishioners who missed the first time we took pictures for our directory and for new families and parishioners who have joined our congregation since the directory photos were taken.  Check in with Jerry after the services if you need to have your picture taken.

Presiding Bishop-elect Michael Curry to Lead Revival in Eastern Oregon
"How far would you drive to hear Presiding Bishop-elect Michael Curry, probably the most electrifying preacher in the Episcopal Church today?   The Diocese of Eastern Oregon is pleased to announce that Bishop Curry will lead their annual Adult Education weekend. If you can’t come for the whole weekend, plan to come on Sunday for what they are describing as the Great Camp Meeting. It will be an old-fashioned tent revival featuring fabulous preaching, amazing music, an altar call, the opportunity to renew our Baptismal vows, healing prayers and lunch."  Diocese of Oregon
Dates: July 30-August 2
Location:  Ascension School, Diocese of Eastern Oregon’s camp in Cove, Oregon, a few miles east of LaGrande.
Cost: Revival on Sunday, August 2nd, $3 per person if you register in advance or $10 at the door.

Thanks for keeping your pledges
up to date during the summer months.
Bills don't take a vacation!
In the past, has Earth been warmer than it is today? If so, does that mean we shouldn't worry about global warming?
There were times in the distant past when Earth was warmer than it is now.  However, human societies have developed and thrived during the relatively stable climate that has existed since the last ice age.  Due to excess carbon dioxide pollution, the climate is no longer stable and is instead projected to change faster than at any other time in human history.  This rapid climate change will expose people to serious risks.  Sea level rise, increasing droughts and wildfires in some regions and increasing flooding in others, more heat waves, and other effects of climate change all pose risks to human health, infrastructure critical to our homes, roads, and cities, and the ecosystems that support us.  (Environmental Protection Agency)

The Jesus Movement
"I am looking forward to serving and working for the cause of the Jesus movement
in help this become a transformed world that looks more like God's dream
and less like our nightmare.  That's what energizes me and what I believe in
and we can really continue and build on the good work
that's been done in Bishop Katharine's years."
