Harvest in Provence - Vincent van Gogh, 1853-1890
O God, who hast taught us to keep all thy commandments by loving thee and our neighbor:
Grant us the grace of thy Holy Spirit, that we may be devoted to thee with our whole heart,
and united to one another with pure affection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth
and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. BCP 179

News from HOT MEALS Thank you to Ena Weick, our new 3rd Saturday cook, and to Dumisa Masole, our new dishwasher. Dumisa lives in our Woodstock neighborhood and saw Joe bringing in food from the food bank and offered to help. He is a great asset to our ministry. The Steering Committee is looking at some  ways to involve the community in our Hot Meals Ministry. Our 1st Saturday team is going through some changes and really need help with dish washing. Please see if you can possibly give a few hours of your time to this ministry once a month.

House Sitter Needed in September
I am in need of a house/pet sitter from Sept 6 until Sept 13. The woman I was planning to have has some health issues and is unable to come. This would be a good job for a college student or senior. The house is in Milwaukie, has AC, and there will be some vegetables to enjoy. Late last year I rescued Poppy, an older Siamese cat. He needs someone to love him until I return. Pay is $200.

Prayer for the Earth
I have come to terms with the future.
From this day onward I will walk easy on the earth.
Plant trees. Kill no living things.
Live in harmony with all creatures.
I will restore the earth where I am.
Use no more of its resources than I need.
And listen, listen to what it is telling me.
