Jesus, the Gerasene, and the unclean spirits. Luke 8:26-39
O Lord, we beseech thee, make us to have a perpetual fear and love of thy holy Name,
for thou never failest to help and govern those whom thou hast set upon the sure foundation
of thy loving-kindness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee
and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.  BCP p. 178
A special word of thanks to our Senior Warden, Laurie McDowell and our Junior Warden, Judy Clark, for beautifying the front of our church building through their caring efforts. We appreciate the colorful floral welcome as we arrive.     Mother Laura

Note from our Bishop regarding Orlando

Dear friends in Christ,

Days ago we woke once again to a story of gun violence.  This time we heard of violence in Orlando in a gay night club with an assault weapon. We heard of a young man with sympathies to radical Islam. We have now begun hearing stories of the victims and their families. I urge you, the people and churches of the Diocesan of Oregon, to pray for those directly affected and to find ways to involve yourself in the work of alleviating gun violence in our society.  There are many aspects to this work: advocacy for new gun laws, for mental health issues, or issues related to security.  Wherever your heart leads you please consider letting your voice be heard in the name of Jesus Christ. My prayers to you in this important work.

God Bless,
+Michael Hanley.

Prayer for the Earth
I have come to terms with the future.
From this day onward I will walk easy on the earth.
Plant trees. Kill no living things.
Live in harmony with all creatures.
I will restore the earth where I am.
Use no more of its resources than I need.
And listen, listen to what it is telling me.

Ways and resources to observe
WORLD REFUGEE DAY on June 20

In 2000, the United Nations named June 20 as World Refugee Day,
deeming it an annual opportunity to celebrate the resilience
and success of the former refugees who bless our communities with their wisdom and irrepressible spirit and to examine the root causes of violence
and persecution that force people to flee at an alarming rate.
