DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENTS
July 28, 2020
What's happening

Downtown is more than a place. Downtown is an experience and it's spilling outside.

Amid the pandemic and as businesses reopen, downtown Kalamazoo businesses are getting creative to bring you an outdoor experience for your shopping, dining, and service needs!

More than ever, it is so important to shop local - businesses will continue to feel the effects of the pandemic into the new year.

Did you know that 95% of downtown businesses have reported a loss of revenue due to COVID-19?

Or that 42% of downtown businesses reported a moderate to high likelihood of permanent closure?

Check out some simple ways you can support local today:

✔️ Go shopping at a downtown retailer - many shops have in-store, online, or curbside pickup options.

✔️ Grab a bite from a downtown restaurant - dine-in, delivery, curbside pickup options available. Call ahead to your favorite restaurant.

✔️ Get that haircut you've been meaning to get - let one of downtown's great salons take care of you for a little while.

✔️ Sweat it out - sign up for a fitness class with a downtown business. Call ahead to learn about their outdoor options.

✔️ Attend an outdoor, socially-distant event - we recommend Beats on BatesWorkout Wednesdays and Kalamazoo Mall Market!
