For current/Recent Ski Trail & Lake Trail conditions CLICK HERE
While we are working to fully open the Lake Trail after the strong winds earlier this month, the extremely cold weather has also impacted that effort. The trail is approx. two thirds open and once the weather is warm enough to get equipment back out there safely, the remainder of the trail will be plowed. Thank you everyone for your patience and understanding – weather is definitely unpredictable.
The Marsh Lake Community Society
Upcoming Improved Access to the Marsh Lake Community Center
The Marsh Lake Community Society has been working closely with Yukon Government, Property Management Branch on a plan to improve the access to the Marsh Lake Community Center and install FOB’s rather than using keys. These FOB’s will replace the keyless entry now being used for the fitness room and eliminate the need for a key lock box and the use of keys. In addition, the Security System that was installed when the building was originally built has been malfunctioning at times and causing unnecessary callouts in the middle of the night. Since the new FOB system will utilize the Security System in order to function well, repairs to eliminate unnecessary callouts will also be completed.  The washroom doors will continue to remain open from the outside between the hours of 8AM and midnight.
These changes may affect some of you so please let us know if it will. We would be happy to work with you on an individual basis to ensure that you will continue to have access to this wonderful facility and we will keep you informed as work progresses but don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
MLCS Needs More Board Members
We would like to take this opportunity to make a call out for new Board members. If you could sit in on a meeting one Wednesday evening a month, please consider becoming a board member. The board members as a collective provide direction as to what programs or activities the Community Society pursues. We try to accommodate the interests and recreational activities of every age group.  If you feel providing your vision for the community to the Community Society is something you may be interested in and you would like to get involved,  email your name and state your intent to the community society:
Wednesday, February 17 - 3pm - 7pm
The Marsh Lake Community Centre and Danny from Castle Fitness will be offering rehab fitness workshops designed to eliminate joint strength and flexibility imbalance in joints, increase anterior and posterior chain strength and improve core strength. These workshops are suitable for people with joint discomfort looking to increase basic mobility as well as those looking to increase performance for sport specific training.

Mobility training is difficult, but all of the static movements are scalable to accommodate individual skill levels and ability and everyone is encouraged to attend the workshops.

"The best thing about progressive, mobility training is that the path is clear cut and there is very little guess work! You have a weakness, you make it a strength, Simple. Random strength training produces random results. Progressive training to decrease joint strength and flexibility imbalance and increase performance IS the new training model".

All you need to attend is a yoga mat, gym attire and bare feet. Yoga mats will be available through the community centre and gym shoes are optional if you prefer.

These workshops will be free of charge to Marsh Lake Residents, and held Saturday afternoons at 1PM and Wednesday afternoons at 3pm in the Marsh Lake Community Centre gymnasium.

Contact the community centre or the instructor, Danny at (867) 333 4588 for information. Visit Castle Fitness at

and most somewhere in between. Breathing exercises (Pranayama) are also
part of the program.
The main goal of these classes is to learn and practice body awareness

All the classes are free! Thanks to New Horizons and Lotteries Yukon.
