Iyengar Yoga with Richard - 5:30 - 7pm ($15/90 minute session)
Yoga with Richard is on again!  Tuesdays from 5:30 - 7pm ~ $15/90 minutes session.  
Iyengar Yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga in which there is a focus on the structural alignment of the physical body through the development of asanas (postures). It is detail-oriented and slow-paced...especially good for fit beginners.

We have toddler play equipment, lots of books for young children, craft supplies and planning resources for your use.

Southern Lakes Enhanced Storage Project
 
Hey Southern Lakes folks...
Yukon Energy is conducting "a final round of public engagement about the project to ensure that present-day opinions of residents, property owners and the public are considered. [...] Our engagement program will include household mailers; pop-up information booths around the Southern Lakes and in Whitehorse; community meetings in Carcross, Marsh Lake and Tagish; and surveys of Southern Lakes residents and the general Yukon public."
There are 4 community meetings coming up. Please come on out to get informed and have your say.:
  • Tagish - Wed 2-Oct, 5:30 pm at the Tagish Community Centre
  • Carcross - Mon 7-Oct, 5:30 pm at the Carcross Learning Centre
  • Whitehorse Tue 15-Oct 5:30 pm at the High Country Inn
  • Marsh Lake Wed 16-Oct 6:30 pm at the Marsh Lake Community Centre

Yoga has been shown to improve overall health when practiced regularly. ... Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can be done sitting on a chair or standing on the ground while using the chair for support. It is beneficial for people with limited mobility and for those who want to practice yoga at their workplace.  Hatha Yoga is a slow and gentle form of yoga.  
 
Donna Jones, longtime Hatha Yoga teacher from Whitehorse, will offer gentle and chair yoga for seniors at Marsh Lake Community Centre. 
 
When: Thursdays, 2 - 3pm, beginning October 3rd
Where: MLCC Gym
Format: Drop-In - Come when you can and as often as you like.  
Cost: By donation - funds raised will be used for future seniors' programming at MLCC

Osteofit with Ursula!

demand...to offer another awesome series of Osteofit sessions...a gentle form of strengthening exercises for folks with osteoporosis and other mobility-related injuries and conditions. 
 
When: Tuesday afternoons -  1 ~ 2pm
Start Date: October 8
Where: MLCC Gym 
Cost: By donation (Funds raised will be used for future seniors' programming at MLCC
Registration: Pick up your registration forms at the Office, MLCC, during opening hours.  These must be completed prior to the first session. Please arrive early for the first to complete registration and pre-test.

Bridge Lessons for Beginning, Rusty or Casual Players  
 
The course will cover thre basics of contract bridge, such as terminology, method of play, taking tricks, counting points, bidding and much more.  

When: Sundays, October 27, 2019 - January 19, 2020, 1 - 3 pm
Where: Marsh Lake Community Centre
Instructor: Bruce Beaton
Who: Anyone who's interested in upping their bridge game!
Cost: $30/ Adults 55 years and over; $60 - Under 55
