Global Climate Strike - Fridays For Future
The Climate Save Movement supports and has joined alongside other environmentalist organizations the March 15th Global Climate Strike Fridays For Future in 20 cities. Inspired by environmentalist and vegan Nobel Prize nominee Greta Thunberg (16), hundreds of thousands of students across the globe have started striking regularly, demanding that governments take action. Individually, the biggest impact everyone can have is to stop consuming animal products and to go vegan.
The Vegan Rebellion
Greta Thunberg’s father has spoken about how their awareness as a family of the climate change urgency led them to become vegan. He says, “I had to go vegan because of the climate crisis. We are facing a diet catastrophe. We only have less than a couple of years to bend the curve”. When asked what has changed in her life due to her commitment to saving the planet, Greta Thunberg stated: “I have stopped flying. I have stopped eating meat and dairy, both for ethical reasons and ecological reasons.”

Saturday, March 30 is World Day for the End of Fishing. What a great opportunity for all of The Save Movement to educate the public about why fishing is harmful to fish, other sea life, and the habitable planet itself. Save groups will be holding actions for sea life.
The Climate Save Movement's core message is: Help save the planet by going vegan and becoming active. The climate change crisis is upon us, and we must urgently rise to mitigate and reverse it.
The Climate Save Movement is building a grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis by ending animal agriculture, reforesting the Earth and phasing out fossil fuels.

Welcome Manizales Animal Save. Find them on Facebook.
They held their first vigil on March 14. They report: "Because the normalization of murder and the disguise of humane murder must be destroyed, because eating meat is murder and we want animals free, we are present at the vigils."
Pereira Animal Save held their first vigil on March 16. They report: "Their looks plead for freedom, compassion and justice. We feel the helplessness of knowing that we return home and that their lives have vanished under the mantle of suffering. There's a moment when you have the connection face to face that drives you to continue with the fight against speciesism and animal liberation."
Ibague Animal Save also held their first vigil, on March 20. They report: "With every goodbye, broken hearts, we see their fear and anguish... they really need our help. It is terrible what humanity is doing to so many animals."
Lily the Mother Goat Hi, I'm Lily the Mother Goat. Please follow/like myInstagramand Facebookpages.
Young, friendly and gentle goats being used for the rodeo activity known as goat tying. What traits do the goats lack that give us a reason and/or right to do this to them? None. They deserve none of this.
If you would like to bear witness but don't have Save vigils near you, consider starting a group. Email us at email@example.com or check out thesavemovement.org for info on how to get started! We will help you every step of the way.
Save Movement Johannesburg bore witness and said goodbye to the chickens going into Early Bird Farm on March 13. They report: "The smell here is horrendous. The babies we see at a glimpse (they will not let us take photos) are scraggly, lacking feathers and look so unhealthy. Imagine how they must feel?"
Save Movement activists Anni Lanki and David andrew are on a Save Organizing Tour of India. They report:
Greetings from India! 🌞🧡
We have been on tour here now for 7 weeks and this time has been very eventful and effective. We have visited 5 cities so far in which we held several workshops, vigils and cubes, and also visited schools and colleges for talks on veganism. We have been in media in several places, and got 8 articles about veganism in newspapers so far 🙏🧡"

They were able to rescue a piglet from the slaughter plant: "Meet Frida 🌸 Thanks to a good rapport with a slaughterhouse owner we managed to rescue this beautiful girl last week. We picked her up at the slaughterhouse, where her brothers and sisters got their throats slit in the room right next to her. She's now at a sanctuary where she'll receive all the love and belly rubs she deserves."
Bodensee Animal Save held their first Ditch Dairy - Save Lives action on March 17. They report: "With our Ditch Dairy action we are raising awarenes to the brutality and horrors of the dairy industry. We stood in front of a huge dairy factory, with signs and a love-based approach towards the cars driving by, we handled out flyers to people walking past and had some good outreach conversations."
Athens Animal Save held their first vigil on March 13. 20 activists were present. Please watch.
Animal Save Skaraborg report from their February 24 vigil: "It is painful to see a transport full of animals pass in through the gate to later roll out empty. The knowledge that the animals are unloaded in a terrible environment where they will face further suffering and ultimately fatal violence is heavy to bear. We were on site outside Skövde slaughter plant to bear witness to the innumerable victims of the animal ag industry."
East London Chicken Save report from their March 13 vigil at Kadasia "Poultry" slaughter plant: "A small team of activists met in the middle of the night to witness the arrival of the daily chicken truck. As always the vehicle was full of 6-week-old chickens, many of whom had already died or were drawing their final breath. Many people often say 'I only eat chicken,' as if these birds are merely a food item. Chickens are individuals."
Save Movement Costa Rica report from their vigil for cows outside El Arreo slaughter plant: "In memory of thousands of animals killed at El Arreo, we were present for the animals, bore witness and showed many people what is behind their meat, full of suffering, exploitation and lack of empathy."
Tena Animal Save report from their vigil at an animal ag expo: "We visited a cow show just outside Tena. There was one barn with around 50 cows mostly tied to the railings of their pens. There was a competition taking place so many of them were being washed, having their hooves painted or being brushed. These types of event are not for the animals but for the people who own and control them."
2019 Women's March From Fearman's Slaughterhouse
May 12, 9 am – 2 pm. RSVP: event page
We will start the day with a vigil for the pigs. After bearing witness and leaving flowers and messages for the babies trapped inside the slaughterhouse, we will start marching to a park in downtown Burlington. We are marching to show our solidarity to the nonhuman females that have been oppressed by a patriarchy.
We aim to increase awareness and action so that all feminists include animals in their circle of compassion. Female animals are forcibly impregnated over and over and again until they are 'spent' and then sent to slaughter. These mother's have their babies stolen from them in order to satisfy human greed.
Toronto Cow Save bears witness at Ryding-Regency and St. Helen's slughter plants every Tuesday morning. Please join us, for the animals.
Ottawa Farmed Animal Save report from their vigil at the Ottawa "Livestock" Exchange: We had maybe best turnout yet at our monthly vigil. Same farmers and truckers, speeding, trying to hit us, lambs and baby goats crammed in the back of truck cabs (likely not legal)."
Please watch and share Toronto Cow Save's video: lambs to slaughter. Easter is about 4 weeks away and we'll see more lambs going to slaughter. They are innocent, gentle sentient beings. Stop the slaughter! We don't need to consume them to be healthy. Go Vegan and get involved. Join us at our weekly morning vigils.
Langley Pig Save spread the message of kindness and compassion on March 8 outside Britco "Pork" slaughter plant. "Small but passionate group spreading awareness and planting seeds. 🌱"
Please watch: Bearing witness just outside Fearmans "Pork" slaughter plant on March 13. The innocent pigs huddle close for comfort in their tight confinement..
Minneapolis Animal Save joined Med City Animal Save for a vigil at Quality "Pork" Processors, a slaughter plant that kills 19,000 pigs a day. All of their output goes to the Hormel Foods Corp. "The whole city smells like a horror show. We couldn't really get close to the trucks because of the ice, and the police. What are they hiding that's so bad?"
In New York City, The Save Movement aims to have 100 chapters, including one at each live market. The ongoing NYC Save Movement tour is working to create new groups. Belmont Animal Save in the Bronx is one of them.
They bore witness to goats and chickens on March 15 at Saroop & Son Live "Poultry" Market. Please watch.
Las Vegas Animal Save report from their March 16 vigil at Charleston and Highland "Poultry" slaughter plants, which saw their highest attendance ever with 56 activists: "All of you being there for the baby chickens and ducks needlessly killed at Charleston and Highland Poultry is a reminder of the realities we’re fighting to change toward a future where animals are not viewed as objects or property. They deserve to be remembered; thank you all again for remembering them."
Toronto Pig Save started in December 2010, with a promise to the pigs of doing a minimum of three vigils and vegan outreach events each week, all year round. We bear witness as a community of pigs, cows, chickens and other farmed animal victims in slaughterhouse trucks. The animals want us to be present and, with the most pleading eyes, ask for our help when we see them through the portholes of transport trucks. Just as if we were in those horrid trucks, we would want the whole community to be there fighting for our freedom, liberation, rights, and equality. In a way, we are there. All life is one and, “when (wo)men wish to harm others, they really do evil to themselves,” Leo Tolstoy said in his animal rights story “Esarhaddon, King of Assyria”. It’s our positive duty and obligation to act in the present to try to stop the most egregious injustices before us.
"When the suffering of another creature causes you to feel pain, do not submit to the initial desire to flee from the suffering one, but on the contrary, come closer, as close as you can to her who suffers, and try to help her.” – Leo Tolstoy
In 8 years, The Save Movement has grown to over 640 Save groups in 69 countries around the world. Our dream is to have regular vigils at every slaughter plant worldwide. We regularly give seed money to new Save groups and require funds for literature, posters, subway ad campaigns (iVegan.ca) and vegan outreach events.
Make animal liberation your priority in life! Think of 10 kind things you can do each day and encourage your friends to do the same! Join us and participate in our weekly vigils, start a Save group in your community, and be a regular donor.
