Saturday, March 30 is World Day for the End of Fishing. What a great opportunity for all of The Save Movement to educate the public about why fishing is harmful to fish, other sea life, and the habitable planet itself. Save groups will be holding actions for sea life.
The Climate Save Movement's core message is: Help save the planet by going vegan and becoming active. The climate change crisis is upon us, and we must urgently rise to mitigate and reverse it.
The Climate Save Movement is building a grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis by ending animal agriculture, reforesting the Earth and phasing out fossil fuels.

Global Strike For Future
The Climate Save Movement is supporting and joining the March 15th Global Climate Strike For Future! Inspired by Greta Thunberg, thousands of students across the globe have started striking regularly, demanding that governments take action. The message is clear from the youth of the world. We must not continue jeopardizing their future and immediately reduce our
greenhouse gas emissions caused by our reliance on fossil fuels and animal agriculture. Governments around the world need to implement policies that will transform the fossil fuel industry to renewables and move animal agriculture toward a sustainable plant-based industry. Individually the biggest impact everyone can have is to stop consuming animal products and go vegan.
Health Save Movement aims to show how veganism can prevent and reverse diseases related to animal products consumption, enhance food justice, and decrease spending on the health crisis.

A new Save Latino Tour 2019 has started! The Save Movement Latin America started a Save Latino Tour of Colombia on March 5 to open new groups and offer support to existing groups. We will visit the following cities: Guarne, Manizales, Pereira, Ibagué, Bogota, Ubaté, Tunja,
Cartagena, Barranquilla and Medellin. At the same time, they will be holding informative talks and actions that will include community organizing, street activism, organization of vigils and events, and joint work for animal liberation.
Welcome Guarne Animal Save. Find them on Facebook.
They held their first vigil on March 6. They report: "Today we bore witness to hundreds of animals, some went by crying silently, others asking for help shouting with their eyes, with eyes full of terror and anguish. Today a part of us died with them. Do not look away, they need you there, accompanying them."
Save Movement activists are on a Save Organizing Tour of Australia. New groups are being formed.
They held their first vigil on March 6 at the Wodonga Abbatoir. They report: "Spreading some peace and love for the darlings who were about to be murdered today at Wodonga Abbatoir. Vigils are so important for the animals and we endeavour to host them regularly moving forward."

Save Movement activists are on a Save Organizing Tour of India. The tour is bearing fruit as new groups are being formed there as well.
They report from their first vigil: "We saved 9 lives at Surat Animal Save's first vigil 💙 Why are they pink and orange? In the egg industry male chicks are useless by-products. Most of the time they are killed straight away after birth by grinding or suffocating. In India they are often colored to attract buyers -- people buy them for children to use as toys after which they are killed for meat. Also farmers buy male chicks and raise them for 12 weeks before slaughtering them."
If you would like to bear witness but don't have Save vigils near you, consider starting a group. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or check out thesavemovement.org for info on how to get started! We will help you every step of the way.

Shanghai Animal Save report from their visit to a slaughter plant: "In the afternoon there was no one in the slaughter house except two doorkeepers. They were uninterested and paid no attention to us, so we went inside. The pigs were locked in small chambers waiting to be killed at midnight💔"
Please watchHong Kong Pig Save's video "Crying outside an abattoir." The sweet pigs on the truck receive love.
Saudi Arabia is our 69th country! Welcome Saudi Animal Save. Find them on Facebook.
Melbourne Chicken Save and Animal Activist Collective held a demonstration in central Melbourne to call attention to the RSPCA and their soft stance against animal abuse, and to pay respect to the bodies of chicken victims on display to the public, helping them make the connection. Please watch.
Please note that the old Melbourne Chicken Save is now Melbourne Chicken Rescue: "We take in sick, unwanted, injured and liberated chickens, rehabilitate them, give them care, love, respect, compassion and treat them with dignity. We rehome those who make a full recovery and give pallative care at our hospice, to those who need help passing peacefully."
Auckland Animal Save held a vigil for the chickens killed at the Aetna slaughter plant on March 7. "Together we will tell the stories of these sentient beings. They will not be forgotten."
They held their first outreach event on March 5 outside the Roubaix bird slaughter plant.
Berlin Animal Save bore witness to the pigs arriving to their deaths at the VION Perleberg slaughter plant on March 1. They report: "...between 25-30 trucks crammed with stressed, hungry and thirsty sentient beings arriving here everyday. Think about this giant number and join one of the next vigils to face the reality."
Granollers Rabbit Save held a vigil at the Manel Marin rabbit slaughter plant. Watch: they were able to save a life!
Zaragoza Animal Save held their first vigil on February 25 at the MercaZaragoza slaughter plant. They report: "We saw few trucks and we hardly had time to say goodbye to the animals that, against their will, were taken to the worst of fates. The struggle for change is real. Take a deep breath, don't be discouraged."
They held their first vigil on February 12 at the Reichmuth Fleischwaren slaughter plant. They report: "We might not have seen any trucks, but we did cause a stir in this little city, with lots of interested members of the public. We even had a couple of slaughterhouse workers come out to talk to us."
The local press reported on the vigil: Bote der Urschweiz newspaper

Farnborough Vigils report from their vigil fro cows and sheep: "The first cow you see in this video is an emaciated spent dairy cow who is no longer profitable to the industry. All the animals in this video wanted to live. And there is no humane way to take the life of someone who does not want to die."
Please watch: Steven Coole reports from Northamptonshire Chicken Save's vigil at Avara "Foods" Ltd. slaughter plant on February 27. "I briefly witnessed the sordid, stinking reality for chickens as they are transported to the 'processing plant.' The video is from four separate trucks delivering the chickens while we bore witness."
Toronto Cow Save report from their March 5 vigil at St. Helen's "Meat" Packers slaughter plant: "Each week new people join our vigil who leave with the commitment to live vegan and get active to help the animals. Please watch: Louisville Pig Save report from their February 24 vigil: "We were able to bear witness to 12 trucks at our pig vigil in downtown Louisville. This is perhaps the first and last time these young pigs, 6-8 months of age, were able to get fresh air and sunlight."
Toronto Pig Save started in December 2010, with a promise to the pigs of doing a minimum of three vigils and vegan outreach events each week, all year round. We bear witness as a community of pigs, cows, chickens and other farmed animal victims in slaughterhouse trucks. The animals want us to be present and, with the most pleading eyes, ask for our help when we see them through the portholes of transport trucks. Just as if we were in those horrid trucks, we would want the whole community to be there fighting for our freedom, liberation, rights, and equality. In a way, we are there. All life is one and, “when (wo)men wish to harm others, they really do evil to themselves,” Leo Tolstoy said in his animal rights story “Esarhaddon, King of Assyria”. It’s our positive duty and obligation to act in the present to try to stop the most egregious injustices before us.
"When the suffering of another creature causes you to feel pain, do not submit to the initial desire to flee from the suffering one, but on the contrary, come closer, as close as you can to her who suffers, and try to help her.” – Leo Tolstoy
In 8 years, The Save Movement has grown to over 630 Save groups in 69 countries around the world. Our dream is to have regular vigils at every slaughter plant worldwide. We regularly give seed money to new Save groups and require funds for literature, posters, subway ad campaigns (iVegan.ca) and vegan outreach events.
Make animal liberation your priority in life! Think of 10 kind things you can do each day and encourage your friends to do the same! Join us and participate in our weekly vigils, start a Save group in your community, and be a regular donor.
