Shanghai Animal Save spent time with the pigs about to be killed: "We went to a slaughterhouse near Shanghai on a rainy day. The people who work there said they kill pigs from 10pm until next morning.😥 We waited there for about half an hour and saw a small truck with only 3 pigs inside. Apparently they were kept in a small and dirty space and were eager to get out."
Hyderabad Animal Save held a vigil for the goats in January. Please watch their report. "We gathered at Bhoiguda Slaughterhouse in Secunderabad to bear witness and provide comfort by giving water to a few of more than 3,000 non-human animals who are sold and slaughtered daily like commodities for profit. It was spine chilling to hear the screams of animals in agony being ignored by our society."
Palestine Animal Save held their first vigil at a live chicken market. Please watch.
Metro Manila Animal Save held a vigil for the pigs on February 10 at Megga Stock Farm: "They fought. We saw it. They struggled until the end. Keep fighting." Please watch and share.
Melbourne Cow Save held a Valentine's Day Outreach on February 10 at the Bourke St. Mall in central Melbourne. They report: "It was great to see people stop and look at our Valentine's Day inspired posters with themes of love, connection and kindness. We had a lot of people keen to try vegan chocolate, have a chat and get some information on just how easy it is to find kinder alternatives to dairy products."

No trucks came, but they did get an interview on the Onda Cero radio station, which reported: "Lugo has its own Save Movement chapter in defense of animals. The goal is to raise awareness about the animal agriculture industry and build a massive movement based on animal justice."
Coruña Animal Save also held their first vigil on February 17.
Uppsala Animal Save report from their vigil outside the Lövsta slaughter plant on February 8: "When we arrived we heard that there were already animals in there and that the killing was going on. The screams are impossible to get used to. Why are these industries so keen to hide their business? Why can't this be shown to consumers?"

They held their first vigil at the Visom slaughter plant, where they witnessed horrific suffering. Watch: "The first truck to enter that day showed us that there is more cruelty in the corners where nobody can see. Where the least common sense of respect towards another sentient being is not respected."
Santa Cruz Animal Save report from their second vigil where they bore witness to pigs and gave them water: "These innocent animals deserve love and attention; none wants to live in these conditions or be killed. All the suffering we cause them is unnecessary, we don't need them to live."
Save Movement Costa Rica report from their heart-filled action for the animals at the Montecillos slaughter plant: "Valentine's Day also includes the cows, pigs, calves, chickens and all the animals being exploited -- we cannot forget that. That's why at our last vigil we expressed our love to them. What would you tell them? Join this incredible group of people to achieve animal liberation."

Donate Today!

Toronto Pig Save started in December 2010, with a promise to the pigs of doing a minimum of three vigils and vegan outreach events each week, all year round. We bear witness as a community of pigs, cows, chickens and other farmed animal victims in slaughterhouse trucks. The animals want us to be present and, with the most pleading eyes, ask for our help when we see them through the portholes of transport trucks. Just as if we were in those horrid trucks, we would want the whole community to be there fighting for our freedom, liberation, rights, and equality. In a way, we are there. All life is one and, “when (wo)men wish to harm others, they really do evil to themselves,” Leo Tolstoy said in his animal rights story “Esarhaddon, King of Assyria”. It’s our positive duty and obligation to act in the present to try to stop the most egregious injustices before us.
"When the suffering of another creature causes you to feel pain, do not submit to the initial desire to flee from the suffering one, but on the contrary, come closer, as close as you can to her who suffers, and try to help her.” – Leo Tolstoy
In seven years, The Save Movement has grown to over 610 Save groups in 65 countries around the world. Our dream is to have regular vigils at every slaughter plant worldwide. We regularly give seed money to new Save groups and require funds for literature, posters, subway ad campaigns ( and vegan outreach events.
Make animal liberation your priority in life! Think of 10 kind things you can do each day and encourage your friends to do the same! Join us and participate in our weekly vigils, start a Save group in your community, and be a regular donor.
