Dylan Forest at Animal People Forum interviewed Animal Save Movement co-founder Anita Krajnc on the role of bearing witness at animal vigils. "What would it mean for systems of animal abuse and exploitation if instead of looking away, we turned towards animals who were suffering? Could this form of bearing witness be a force for change and a form of activism?"

Cargill CEO David MacLennan is speaking at the Interlachen Country club on Nov 14. We’ve decided to show up too.
Cargill is buying up commodities from some of the most unscrupulous traders in the business, who are burning down the Amazon and bulldozing forests such as the Brazilian Cerrado. Minnesotans have had enough.

The European Commission has signed a Free Trade deal with Brazil and MERCOSUR on June 28, 2019, giving a green light to destruction and exploitation of the Amazon rainforest for the production of cheap meat and animal feed.
This agreement needs European Parliament approval to become law so now is our chance to prevent it!

Aveiro Animal Save report from their November 3 vigil: "We had the privilege of meeting a beautiful 10-year-old bull - a majestic, calm, curious and gentle animal. Rarely do we come across a bovine who has been allowed to live for so long. 'So long.' It could have been much more. He was a mating bull. That was his function during his life. We don't know the reason why he was taken to the slaughterhouse. Maybe he was replaced for an younger animal, with better genetics. Replaced as if he was an obsolete object. We will never forget him 💚"
Please watch Animal Save Skaraborg's film from the Skövde slaughterhouse, one of Sweden's largest. "What is happening to the pigs here is similar to that of many countries around the world."

Oxfordshire Animal Save report from their November 1 vigil: "Today we bore witness at the Thame Livestock Market where animals are transported to a prison, crammed into cells so tightly packed that they can’t move, until such time that they are sold and transported to where they’ll be fattened up for the rest of their lives until they are killed.
During the time of transport to the auction, the duration of the auction and returning from the auction they are given no food or water."
Please watch: despite the popular anti-government protests and the repression by the government, Valparaíso Animal Save continues to hold vigils for the animals, such as this one on November 3 at the Belloto slaughter plant.
Pereira Animal Save report from the November 3 vigil: "Thanks to the people who traveled to bear witness of what happens in these dark places, which as the name implies is spine-chilling: the slaughterhouse."
Maldonado Animal Save bore witness on November 3. They report: "Panic, sadness, fear and pain flowed through their bodies. And we feel it just by looking them in the eye. If you are not able to face this reality, to witness their suffering, you should not be able to put their bodies in your mouth."
