He promised activists that he wants dialogue regarding the new slaughterhouse his company is building in London, Ontario. Despite their request that he attend the open house regarding the slaughterhouse project, he didn’t show. Activists still attended, however, setting up their own booth on speciesism and advocating for chickens among the Maple Leaf exhibitors. Please watch.

Leo Tolstoy defines the duty to bear witness as: "When the suffering of another creature causes you to feel pain, do not submit to the initial desire to flee from the suffering one, but on the contrary, come closer, as close as you can to him who suffers, and try to help him."

Marketwatch.com: I thought my meatless burger was the real thing — and that’s why the meat industry is headed for trouble
Read about Beyond Meat's explosive growth in this article by Joshua Specht divides his time between Melbourne, Australia, where he teaches American history at Monash University, and South Bend, Indiana. He is the author of Red Meat Republic: A Hoof-to-Table History of How Beef Changed America. "Investors in Tyson Foods and Smithfield Foods parent WH Group should be worried about the conversations these meatless burgers are starting." "Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods, both of which are made from plant-based ingredients, stress their environmental benefits. Beyond Meat has a video on its website that explicitly talks about the problems of beef production. Beyond Meat’s prospectus further lists a “brand mission aligned with consumer trends” as a strength, specifically highlighting “public awareness” about the problems of producing traditional meat.
"U.S. consumers seem to be biting, and not just the 5% or so who call themselves vegans or vegetarians. An Ipsos survey of 2,010 U.S. adults found 49% of Americans are interested in plant-based meat, with that percentage at 67% for 18-to-34-year-olds. The numbers are even higher for “clean meat” (lab-grown). Personal health benefits are the most important factor according to survey participants, but more than 40% of respondents also highlighted animal welfare and “environmental benefits” as important factors.
"Beyond Meat says its sales have surged to $87.9 million in 2018, from $16.2 million in 2016, admittedly still a small part of the U.S.’s $270 billion meat market, as it seeks to appeal to mainstream eaters."
Balanced will be working with Health Save Movement to veganize menus. Balanced is a public health and nutrition advocacy organization campaigning for healthier menus in schools, hospitals, and other critical institutions. We believe everyday people, communities, and organizations like ours have the power to transform the food system by encouraging institutions to improve the healthfulness of their menus and demanding change from the food industry.
Italian Health Save Movement activists report from their talk at the Domar Sporting Club in Rome, Italy, to a classroom of young athletes: "We showed how important the plant-based diet is in reversing climate change. The athletes now know that this diet is also the perfect one to keep our body healthy. We showed them a part of the Dominion movie because a plant-based diet would stop animal suffering forever. We thank the Vegan Power Team for organizing this event."
Ramadan is a good time for moving towards a more conscious and positive lifestyle - to quit smoking cigarettes and other habits that affect us and our surroundings with negative effects, for example. There have been cases of
people who end up in the hospital because of the habits of eating while breaking the fast (large meals containing high fat that comes from the animal or their bodily secretions)
Is there a healthier way to fast?

Please consider becoming a Pig Saver, join Toronto Pig Save's Monthly Donor program or give a special, one-time gift.
Toronto Pig Save started in December 2010, with a promise to the pigs of doing a minimum of three vigils and vegan outreach events each week, all year round. We bear witness as a community of pigs, cows, chickens and other farmed animal victims in slaughterhouse trucks. The animals want us to be present and, with the most pleading eyes, ask for our help when we see them through the portholes of transport trucks. Just as if we were in those horrid trucks, we would want the whole community to be there fighting for our freedom, liberation, rights, and equality. In a way, we are there. All life is one and, “when (wo)men wish to harm others, they really do evil to themselves,” Leo Tolstoy said in his animal rights story “Esarhaddon, King of Assyria”. It’s our positive duty and obligation to act in the present to try to stop the most egregious injustices before us.
"When the suffering of another creature causes you to feel pain, do not submit to the initial desire to flee from the suffering one, but on the contrary, come closer, as close as you can to her who suffers, and try to help her.” – Leo Tolstoy
In 8 years, The Save Movement has grown to over 660 Save groups in 70 countries around the world. Our dream is to have regular vigils at every slaughter plant worldwide. We regularly give seed money to new Save groups and require funds for literature, posters, subway ad campaigns (iVegan.ca) and vegan outreach events.
Make animal liberation your priority in life! Think of 10 kind things you can do each day and encourage your friends to do the same! Join us and participate in our weekly vigils, start a Save group in your community, and be a regular donor.
