Since September 2019, Australia has been experiencing some of the worst fires in the country's history. It’s now being estimated that more than 25 people and over 1 billion animals have been killed in the bushfires and this number doesn’t include the massive number of farmed animals killed. Why is this happening?
• Animal agriculture is one of the main causes of the rising temperatures and use of fresh water in Australia. ⠀
• More than 50% of Australian land is taken up by animal agriculture. Only 3.5% of land goes towards growing fruits and vegetables for direct human consumption.
Joaquin Phoenix got up on the stage unexpectedly today at Jane Fonda’s weekly ‘Fire Drill Fridays’ climate change protest in Washington, D.C.! He called out the meat and dairy industries as being not talked about enough by environmentalists as a main contributor to climate change and passionately urged everyone there, including calling out Jane Fonda right next to him, to CHANGE their eating habits! Following this speech, Joaquin, along with actor Martin Sheen and many others, were arrested on the steps of Capitol Hill for refusing to cooperate and disperse when asked to by the cops.
SAVE'S ANIMAL RESCUES
These babies are Sammy & David. New Haven Animal Save helped get them to sanctuary. They report: "Thank you so much Jasona Bolalek, Adam Chambers & Here With Us Farm Sanctuary for rescuing these little ones. Left to the dairy industry, these baby boys would have been killed, as they have no use within the industry. Do you think these guys deserve to die, for the crime of just being born? If not, go vegan. They will be fostered for a while, before embarking on their journey to their forever home in a couple of weeks!"
THE ANIMAL SAVE MOVEMENT IN THE MEDIA
Animal Save Slovenia co-hosted a vigil on December 26 in front of Ljubljana’s Perutnina Ptuj slaughter plant. About 40 activists were there. The press covered the vigil:
North Carolina Farmed Animal Save & Augusta GA Animal Save joined forces on January 10 for a Vigil & March to World's Largest Slaughterhouse in Tar Hell, NC, where Smithfield "Foods" slaughter plant kills thousands of pigs daily. We believe 2020 and this coming decade is decisive in determining our prospects for planetary survival. By tackling animal agriculture we can reduce methane emissions, a potent greenhouse gas which has a short life span in the atmosphere. Its half life is 10 years compared to CO2 which is 100 years. TheClimate Save Movementis building a grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis by ending animal agriculture, reforesting the Earth and phasing out fossil fuels. Help save the planet by going vegan and promoting vegan #FoodSystemChangeNow! The climate crisis is upon us. We must rise up to mitigate and reverse it.
Ankara Climate Save held a protest outside the Australian Embassy. They report: "We expressed our ideas about the bushfires, their reasons, the climate crisis, the connection between veganism and the climate crisis, and finally the speciesist mentality that saved the koalas while shooting camels. Individuals and governments need to take climate action urgently in order to provide a future for all living creatures on planet Earth. The climate crisis is here and requires action now and we can no longer go on with business as usual."
Planet Vs Cargill - Mexico!
As part of Climate Save Movement’s Planet Vs Cargill campaign, Mexican activists have launched a Mexican National Campaign Vs Cargill, our first simultaneous multi-city disruption against Cargill. February 1 will be the day we host 10 simultaneous disruptions against Cargill in 10 different Mexican cities, with the help of chapters from 15 cities and more chapters as we are bonding Animal Save Movement, Climate Save Movement, Health Save Movement and other activist groups.
We will host sit-ins on busy avenues in front or near Cargill facilities or at McDonald's and Walmart locations in case there is no Cargill facility in the city. Groups will stop traffic, wear animal masks against atmospheric contamination and to represent the violence against non-humans, humans and the environment, and will chain their hands and have speeches outlining our demands.
The goal is to deliver by mail or in person our demands to Cargill at all their 26 facilities in Mexico, ask for accountability from the enterprise and for them to switch urgently to a plant-based economy. Climate Save Mexico organizers say It will be huge to have so many disruptions in one country and press covering it and knowing that Cargill has received this document.

OUR MISSION Health Save Movement aims to show how veganism can prevent and reverse diseases related to animal products consumption, enhance food justice, and decrease spending on the health crisis.
The new Las Vegas Health Save held cooking demos at a food store on December 29 and January 5. "We offered a free Veganuary Intro to Whole-Foods Plant-Based vegan cooking demo & tasting at our northern Natural Grocers teaching kitchen. The classroom filled up quickly. So honored and grateful to have so many people interested in improving their quality of health, their carbon footprint, and reducing global suffering. It felt really good to share this information in a practical way and to empower members of our community (who will then share with others). We made 8 different dishes in just over an hour and provided the recipes, a kitchen essentials list, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine booklets, and Health Save Movement pamphlets."

We were also offered to go inside a big slaughterhouse, where we witnessed killing, hanging and skinning of innocent animals.
"The second vigil was at a dairy farm. The activists brought some fruits and vegetables for the cows and calves, and offered them love. It is clear how much the animals enjoy this."
Seoul Animal Save bore witness to the pigs and cows arriving to their deaths on January 7. Please watch.

We are here for the animals. Defend animals, go vegan."

She was innocent, she had done nothing wrong, she was still a baby, about 6 months old. Today was this girl's day to die. Please do not pay into this barbaric Industry."

Animal rights activists in Colombia have been busy!
Medellín Animal Save bore witness to the pigs arriving at the slaughter plant. They report: "This is a farewell that should never have happened - hundreds of lives reduced to objects, unnecessarily. Their eyes told us of pain, atrocious suffering, terror and fear, extreme fatigue, resignation in front of a world that only beat them since they were born. We were witnesses and we will continue to be. Go vegan for the animals today and fight for their rights!"
Animal Save Colombia organized the first national animal liberation activism meetup in December. It was three days of workshops, trainings and massive actions, three days of sharing and strengthening our ties even more, strengthening this great united community that fights for what it believes: animal liberation now!"
