The Animal Save Movement is growing around the world!
We have 915 chapters in three branches: Animal Save: 701 groups in 71 countries Climate Save: 186 groups in 48 countries Health Save: 28 groups in 11 countries
Torun Animal Save helped save about 1,000 hens! They report: "We got in touch with the owners of a laying hens factory farm. After the talk about their care, we asked them what is happening to them when they produce fewer eggs. As we knew already they confirmed that they send them to the slaughterhouse.
Their farm capacity is around 8,000-9,000 hens. We negotiated with the owners that lives be spared and they agreed. They will give us animals for free. Right now we have found new homes for almost 1,000 hens, all around Poland. We had a huge selection of them and we will are giving them only to the people who will not exploit them in any way and will provide care and freedom for them.
Right now we are fundraising money for petrol costs because transporting so many animals will take a lot of time from the farm to the new homes." If you can help, you can send money via PayPal here.
THE ANIMAL SAVE MOVEMENT IN THE MEDIA
Brisbane Animal Save held a vigil at the Swickers Kingaroy Bacon Factory plant on December 5. Swickers just expanded and has the capacity to kill up to 5,000 pigs per hour. Please watch.
The vigil received great front page coverage by the local paper in the rural town of Kingaroy. As Swickers is the biggest employer in the region, this is quite significant.
OUR MISSION TheClimate Save Movementis building a grassroots movement to solve the climate crisis by ending animal agriculture, reforesting the Earth and phasing out fossil fuels. Help save the planet by going vegan and promoting vegan #FoodSystemChangeNow! The climate crisis is upon us. We must rise up to mitigate and reverse it.
The World Health Organization (WHO) puts it very clearly: The climate crisis is a human health crisis. We need Climate Action NOW and this is how you can support it.
Climate Save Movement appreciates that WHO is caliing for action on climate change. We call for a vegan world, not just less meat consumption.
Let’s educate ourselves and others on the Climate Emergency to Act Now and demand #FoodSystemChangeNow. Please watch video by CNN. "Converting to a plant-based diet could reduce carbon dioxide emissions by over 70%."
We're delighted to announce we’re working on an exciting new project with Joey Carbstrong. More details coming soon!
Durango Health Save held an outreach and educational event, "The science of plant-based food." They report: "Our goal is that everyone be able to choose more suitable foods and know the appropriate contributions of each nutrient for a full life and that they remain with the knowledge that leads them to a better version of themselves."
OUR MISSION Ditch Dairy SAVE Lives aims to encourage Save groups (existing and new) to hold vigils outside of dairy farms or factories incorporating outreach. Groups can also do outreach outside of establishments retailing large amounts of dairy products.
A sweet moment for two animals who society treats very differently. Why love one but eat the other?
Hyderabad Animal Save bore witness at a dairy farm on November 30. Please watch: "This is the story of the millions of calves in the dairy who remain deprived of their mother's milk and love just because we steal their mother's milk."
Mantova Animal Save bore witness on December 1 at the MecCarni slaughter plant. They report: "We are telling these animals that they count and recognize that they are real. We are witnessing and telling everyone what really happens, because no one has ever been in a slaughterhouse or on a truck. We are bringing them to people, so that they stop being accomplices of the horror of death that is carried out every day within the walls of farms and slaughterhouses."
Dunajská Streda Animal Save December 7. "We couldn't even say goodbye to you. The tractor stopped for a moment. The gate closed and you looked at us again. That look will remain in our memory forever. Then they took you to your death ..."
Almería Animal Save held a vigil on November 29 at the Avinatur Sur slaughter plant. They report: "We are in a struggle to end this. We have a very long journey but we will never give up. Animals need us, now and forever. Join us, be the change, You can make a difference for these poor victims."
East London Chicken Save report from their special vigil on November 28: "Yesterday marked three years since we began our East London vigils. In that time we have seen immense changes. Veganism has continued to soar ... whilst the negative impact of animal products on our health and planet has become common knowledge. But most importantly, and devastatingly, the number of animals being bred, exploited, abused and killed worldwide has continued to rise. This is why we will never give up fighting alongside the animals. And this is why complacency is not an option."
Rosario Animal Save held a vigil on November 30 at the JBS Swift slaughter plant. Vigil participant Polli Miotti wrote: "Vigils, for me, are not a romantic farewell to beings who will be cruelly murdered. For me, vigils were, are and will be the irrefutable and real-time proof of the greatest cruelty in the history of humankind."
Nicaragua Animal Save report from their December 1 vigil: "We had to change locations because we received information that no trucks were going to arrive until 10 pm. We managed to put a camera in a farm, to take pictures of the exploitation of beings for egg
production. All the chickens you see in the video are females. Where are the males? Males are killed right after birth because they don't produce eggs." Please watch.
URUGUAY Montevideo Animal Save gave these cows some love during their vigil on December 9. They report: "Today the thermometer showed 30 degrees. We think how unbearable the heat is when we don't have much shade. But they travel hours under the hot rays, without water and without space even for air to flow between their bodies. Today we said goodbye to nine trucks with at least 300 animals."
From Toronto Pig Save's Stop Bill 156 vigil on December 5, first-time vigil participant Tina explains why vigils are important and why Ontario's Bill 156 must be stopped. Please watch.
Also watch activists protest Bill 156 at the local Ontario MPP’s office, Conservative Jane McKenna. We’re demanding the right for protest & free speech. Please, phone your Ontario MPP, ask them to make a stand. Sign the petition.
