MOVIE TOURS

Where your favorite
movies come to life

Older movie fans still pause at the harrowing steps from The Exorcist in Washington, D.C.’s Georgetown; or drive the same steep Lombard Street in San Francisco that Steve McQueen raced down in Bullitt. Others imagine clapping coconuts together approaching Doune Castle in Scotland, just like King Arthur’s knights in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Seeing movie locations is an excellent reason to travel. That’s where AutoVenture comes in: We can provide you with a private guide and deliver a vacation experience customized to your favorite motion picture.

Crazy Rich Asians (Singapore) – Your AutoVenture tour starts with the eye-popping Marina Bay Sands Resort, an architectural wonder that dominates the skyline with the world's highest and largest infinity pool. You’ll stop at the film’s wedding site at CHIJMES, a convent turned into an upscale shopping and dining destination. Plus, you’ll see where the wedding reception was held at the Gardens by the Bay, featuring temperature-controlled domes with flora from around the globe.

Lord of the Rings (Matamata, New Zealand) – New Zealand's North Island is where you’ll find J.R. Tolkien's “Middle-Earth.” The other-worldly village and surrounding farmland known as “Hobbiton” has more than 44 unique hobbit holes, including Bag End (Bilbo's house). It’s tailor-made for fans of the fantasy series.

Game of Thrones (Merida, Spain & Dubrovnik, Croatia) – Just because the long-running HBO hit series has ended doesn’t mean you can’t relive all the blood, debauchery and scheming. Dubrovnik provides the perfect setting for the show with its fortified battlements, huge gates, drawbridges, monuments and buildings. In Spain’s Extremadura region north of Merida, Cáceres served as the setting for Season Seven’s great battle between the Lannister and Daenerys Targaryen armies.

Harry Potter (London & Scotland) – The tale of the bespectacled wizard may have run its course, but fans can still visit the sites featured in the films — from King’s Cross Station in London to the cloisters of Gloucester Cathedral, featured in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. There are too many sites to mention in this space, but rest assured that AutoVenture can put together a trip that will be absolutely spellbinding.

For those unfamiliar with these locations, an AutoVenture guided tour is the surest way of getting closest to the culture, and of capturing an unforgettable city.
