The Umbrella Movement and Theology

Edited by Justin K.H. Tse

The percolation of theology to the surface of the Hong Kong protests requires theological reflection. This current forum gathers four theologians who have been watching and participating in the Umbrella Movement to offer their articulations of the theological significance of the student-initiated pro-democracy movement. If the Anglo-American world is surprised that theology is not private in these demonstrations, then perhaps Hong Kong has much to teach us about the theological constitution of the supposedly secular public sphere.
