This Sunday, December 13th we will have a live streamed service beginning at 10:00a.m.

The service will be viewable on our Website.

Rev. Pat Jobe

"Understanding Can Be A False Idol"

Rev. Pat Jobe will be with us again virtually on Dec. 13. He has a number of friends who worship at the altar of understanding, especially at an intellectual level, at a level that offers to explain everything. But of course, that is not the whole story. Understanding as empathy, compassion, love, shared space, all of that can be a healing balm in a world gone crazy. He also wants us to know that he misses being with us.

Thank you for selecting LIKE or leaving a COMMENT
once you view the service.

After service we will have a virtual discussion group.

Contact UUCL.OFFICE@gmail.com if you would like to be added to the discussion group Email list.

All Services begin at 10:00 a.m.

Our December theme will be Understanding:

“Data is not information, information is not knowledge, knowledge is not understanding, understanding is not wisdom.”     Clifford Stoll

“The noblest pleasure is the joy of understanding.” Leonardo da Vinci

“I call him religious who understands the suffering of others.” Mahatma Gandhi

Tune into us for a service in December to discover the many dimensions of understanding – ourselves, others, and the roller-coaster ride that was the year 2020.

December 20 - Rev. Dick Hood
"Darkness and Light - a Christmas Meditation"

Take some time to find meaning in this special season. More light is coming, but can we savor the darkness as well?

December 27 -  A special Live Streamed service presented by the UUCL RE/SJ Committee

We start 2021 with the January Theme: "Awe"

“One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day.”     Albert Einstein

“If you think of feelings you have when you are awed by something - for example, knowing that elements in your body trace to exploded stars - I call that a spiritual reaction, speaking of awe and majesty, where words fail you.”      Neil deGrasse Tyson

We start the year by looking back, in Awe, at what the year behind us has wrought, and looking ahead, with Awe, to what possibilities the year ahead of us holds.  Join us on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. for these conversations.

Upcoming Monthly Themes:
February - Bravery
March - Dignity
April - Freedom
May - Happiness
June - Justice
