It is always time for spiritual growth

Is not growing spiritually a lifeline to our joy, contentedness, hope, meaning and purpose, and living in the moment of this life?  We will explore some of these ideas in a message of hope in and reliance on our inclination toward spiritual growth.

We encourage each of you who join our service by  video to light your own candle.  Whether you are watching live or later we can find our spirits united by this simple action.  Until we are together again.

Extinguishing the Chalice
We extinguish this flame but not the light of truth,
the warmth of community, or the fire of commitment.
These we carry in our hearts until we are together again.

Our November Theme is Spiritual Growth
The Year 2020 has been out of the norm, presenting us each with many challenges.  The stress of these challenges has worn people down, without an end in sight.  How do we care for our Human Spirits in times of prolonged stress, fear and anxiety?  Let’s talk about it in November.

November 29 - Rev. Charlie Tyler
Namaste, ya'll and other thoughts on spirituality

Almost, but not all cultures has a way to speak to the suspicion that there is a divine spark in the human condition.  Today's message will try to examine that very human experience.

Our December theme will be Understanding:

“Data is not information, information is not knowledge, knowledge is not understanding, understanding is not wisdom.”     Clifford Stoll
“The noblest pleasure is the joy of understanding.” Leonardo da Vinci
“I call him religious who understands the suffering of others.” Mahatma Gandhi

Tune into us for a service in December to discover the many dimensions of understanding – ourselves, others, and the roller-coaster ride that was the year 2020.

December 6 - Rev. Charlie Tyler
December 13 - Rev. Pat Jobe
Understanding Can Be A False Idol

Rev. Pat Jobe will be with us again virtually on Dec. 13. He has a number of friends who worship at the altar of understanding, especially at an intellectual level, at a level that offers to explain everything. But of course, that is not the whole story. Understanding as empathy, compassion, love, shared space, all of that can be a healing balm in a world gone crazy. He also wants us to know that he misses being with us.
December 20 - Rev. Dick Hood
