Off On The Right Foot

Welcome to The de Paul School’s 48th school year! I am thrilled to be associated with such an outstanding collection of students, parents, and educators. As Principal Stepp noted in last week’s Husky Weekly, we are indeed off to a fabulous start. Before it's suddenly September, I have some important beginning-of-year notes to share with you.
  • The 17-18 School Calendar is a most valuable tool. It communicates a variety of events, holidays, practices, etc. You can access the calendar on our school’s website, and I recommend that you review it with your child before each new school week begins. (A quick link can also be found at the bottom of each week's Husky Weekly.)
  • We utilize the One Call Now service to notify families (email and phone call) of cancellations and important/exceptional announcements. We will send out a “practice” One Call Now announcement on Monday, August 28 at 5:00 PM. If you receive neither an email nor a phone call between 5:00 and 6:00 that evening, please notify the school on Tuesday so we can enter your contact information into the system.
  • Within the first few weeks of a new school year, we do practice our emergency drills. In fact, we have already completed two fire drills and one severe weather drill. Please note that we will conduct a lock-down/intruder drill on Tuesday, August 29.
May this school year be de Paul’s best ever!
-Tony Kemper, Head of School

The Great American Eclipse
