Trees of Hope Early Bird Deadline is October 15

Kellsie Marchbanks, the founder of the Kellsie's Hope Foundation, loved Christmas. It was her favorite holiday. Every year since her cancer battle ended and she received her angel's wings, Kellsie's Trees of Hope Gala has helped raise funds to continue granting wishes for kids with cancer.  Trees, wreaths, table settings, decorations, raffles, silent and oral auctions, appetizers, beer, wine and soda are all a ticket away. Purchase your ticket by October 15 to take advantage of the Early Bird pricing special.   Click on the picture above for more information and to purchase tickets.

Kassidy's Shopping Spree

In the Fall of 2018, Kassidy was 18 years old, had started her first semester at Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin and was playing on the women’s basketball team.  A couple of days after Thanksgiving, she noticed something unusual on the right side of her neck and when she returned home for Christmas break she saw an Ear Nose and Throat doctor. On December 21, 2018, Kassidy was told she had a 13.5cm mass growing in her chest.  After consulting with an Oncology doctor and a trip to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, they found that the mass was close to her heart and trachea and they requested she come immediately to Children’s Hospital.  Kassidy arrived at St. Louis Children’s Hospital just two hours later where an Oncology team of doctors greeted her, examined her mass and admitted her to the hospital for a neck and bone marrow biopsy.  The next step was waiting for the results. Kassidy shared, “ I believe everyone that has ever waited to get their results back like this, knows how long the wait feels.”  She received her diagnosis, Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, on January 2, 2019.  The next 6 months were a whirlwind of treatment including four cycles of daily chemotherapy with 6 treatments each cycle and then 17 radiation treatments.  Kassidy is thankful that her treatment was successful and her cancer journey ended on June 14.   With this behind her, she was ready to create some new memories and thank her family for everything they did to support her.  Kellsie’s Hope Foundation granted Kassidy’s wish that included a shopping spree and a fun visit to Dave and Busters.  Kassidy stated, “ I wanted to get my mom and siblings some things because I know everything they had sacrificed for me in order to get better. I wanted to do something we would all enjoy as a family and make memories that would last a lifetime! Thank you for helping me thank them for everything they went through with me.

Thank you to everyone who supports Kellsie’s Hope Foundation. Your donations help kids and their families create fun memories.

Jaxon's Journey

On July 8, 2013 at just 2 ½ years old, Jaxon was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) Pre B cell Leukemia.  For 3 ½ years, Jaxon received chemotherapy treatments at St. Louis Children’s Hospital until he rang the bell for his last treatment on September 28, 2016. Less than 2 years later, on April 26, 2018, Jaxon’s family learned the “gut wrenching news” that he had relapsed. Jaxon’s team of doctors decided to try something brand new, a therapy that was just approved in St. Louis the year before.  Jaxon is the second patient in St. Louis to receive CAR-T cell therapy. He currently gets infusions and labs every 3 weeks at home and goes to the hospital every other month to see his doctors. Jaxon is now starting 3rd grade and will turn 9 years old in September. Since Jaxon missed his summer of 2018 due his treatments, Kellsie’s Hope gratned his wish for summer in Destin, Florida.  He was able to swim in the ocean, eat lunches and dinners on the beach, visit Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park, feed gators, hunt for crabs, ride go carts, play miniature golf take a Buccaneer Pirate Cruise, take sand castle lessons on the beach and experience Big Kahuna water park!  Jaxon’s family shared it was a great trip and,”…it was everything he asked for and more!”

Kellsie’s Hope was able to help Jaxon and his family create a fun summer memory, thanks to donations from supporters.  Because of you, Jaxon enjoyed his summer.  Thank you!

Space Camp for Kennan

In 2018, Kennan was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a very rare cancer that grows in bones and the soft tissue around the bone. That was the beginning of Kennan's cancer journey and his treatment at St. Louis Children's Hospital.  While battling cancer, Kennan shared, "I have always wanted to be an Astronaut or train to be a pilot and fly others into space." Kellsie's Hope Foundation was able to bring a smile to Kennan's face when he found out his wish was being granted and he and his best friend were going to Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama.  While on his trip, Kennan also met astronaut pilot Hoot Gibson. We are happy to say Kennan has been cancer free since New Year's Eve, 2018.  Stay strong Kennan!

Without donors like you, Kennan's wish and all of the wishes Kellsie's Hope grants would not be possible. Thank you for helping Kellsie's Hope Foundation put smiles on faces that are struggling to find a reason to smile during their cancer battle.

Princess Tiana's Wish

Seventeen year old, Tiana, has been fighting a battle against Osteosarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer in children, for 2 years. She needed a break and wanted to do something special with her family so Kellsie's Hope granted Tiana's wish and sent them on their FIRST Disney World Vacation. Dressed in their island attire, they were greeted by Mickey Mouse and dined at the Polynesian Resort with Lilo and Stitch. Kellsie's Hope got some extra help from Patti, a runner in the runDisney races, who worked her magic and was able to make reservations for Tiana's family at Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.  We couldn't let this trip go by without Tiana meeting her favorite princess “Princess Tiana”, from the Princess and the Frog.  It was a fun, much needed week away from the hospital and cancer and helped Tiana look forward to going to school at Spellman University in Atlanta. Unfortunately, Tiana relapsed a few days after returning home from her trip and she is currently fighting to win her battle against cancer.  Please join Kellsie's Hope in wishing her success to win her battle and kick cancer’s butt.

Thank you to all Kellsie's Hope supporters and donors for helping us give Tiana the opportunity to have fun on her FIRST Disney World Vacation.
