Elizabeth is California's First Wish Recipient

Kellsie's Hope was able to extend their wish granting to California for the first time!! Our first California wish recipient was Elizabeth who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at just 10 years old. When other kids were enjoying their childhood, Elizabeth was spending her childhood in the hospital enduring numerous treatments including chemotherapy.  At the age of 15, she relapsed which meant more hospitals, more treatment, and more procedures to address other health conditions that were side effects of treatment.  Elizabeth and her family were not able to create many fun childhood memories, so when Kellsie's Hope notified her at age 22 that her wish to go to Disneyland was being granted, everyone was excited. Elizabeth and her family stayed at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel and enjoyed  both Disneyland Park and Disneyland Adventure Park for 4 days. Elizabeth shared, "It was definitely one of the best family vacations we’ve ever taken and is something we’ll always remember, we’re so grateful to Kellsie’s Hope for helping to make my wish come true they gave us a trip to cherish and remember".

Another first to share is Elizabeth's wish was the first wish granted by Kellsie's sister, Hannah, who is a nurse in the pediatric oncology department at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital.

Thank you Kellsie's Hope supporters for helping us spread our wish granting!!

Ellie's Virtual Wish

Nineteen year old Ellie wanted to see the Grand Canyon, Giant Redwoods and Sequoia. While her cancer limited her traveling, Kellsie’s Hope Foundation purchased a VR system for Ellie that allowed her to travel the globe in virtual reality. With her goggles, she was able to experience many places she wanted to go. Ellie was able to enjoy her virtual goggles for only a short time. Sadly, Ellie passed away shortly after receiving her wish, but her family shared that she enjoyed the experience.  Please remember Ellie and her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

Alex and His Sax

Alex was diagnosed with Ependymoma, a brain and spinal cord cancer that most often occurs in young children. The tumor was surgically removed and then Alex endured 6 weeks of radiation therapy. Thankfully, his last 2 MRIs have been clean of cancer.  Alex shared with Kellsie's Hope that he has been playing saxophone since 5th grade, primarily baritone sax, but he wanted a tenor sax so he could "get into playing jazz".  Kellsie's Hope granted Alex's wish. He can play sax while he studies biology at Truman State University.  Please join us in wishing Alex fun with his new saxophone and success as he continues his studies and preparing for veterinary school.

Many thanks to everyone who supports Kellsie's Hope Foundation and our mission to grant wishes for kids and young adults like Alex.
