Morgan's Cape Cod Wish

When most 19 year olds are on a journey of "life after high school", Morgan was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and was focusing on her cancer journey. Thankfully, now at 21, Morgan is cancer free!! Kellsie's Hope Foundation was able to grant Morgan's wish to spend time with her family on a beach in Cape Cod. Kellsie’s Hope rented a house in Wellfleet and sent Morgan and her family on a whale watching cruise to help them create some fun memories together. Relaxing on the beach, shopping, and a tour of lighthouses were also activities they enjoyed.  Morgan's mom shared, " Spent a wonderful week on the Cape! We went on an amazing whale watching tour, found some wonderful old book stores, did lots of shopping at little shops, toured the oldest lighthouse on the Cape, ate some incredible food, went on a fishing trip and spent the entire week on the beach!! It was a fantastic trip to Cape Cod!!"

Morgan loves to read and is keeping busy at school studying micro-biology and chemistry. She hopes to go to medical school. We wish Morgan luck and success on her new journey attending school.

Thank you to all Kellsie’s Hope Foundation supporters and donors. Without you, We would not be able to help young adults like Morgan!

Davion and Great Wolf Lodge

At 12 years old, Davion has been spending time battling Leukemia, a battle that no child should have to endure.  Like alot of kids his age, Davion is a big fan of Teen Titans and loves to eat Domino's and KFC.  Davion had a wish to spend time with his 6 brothers and sisters at Great Wolf Lodge in Chicago and Kellsie's Hope Foundation was honored to grant his wish.  Davion and his family enjoyed swimming at the indoor water park, rock climbing, bowling, playing miniature golf, maneuvering through a ropes course and eating at many restaurants on the Great Wolf Lodge property.  Davion was able to spend time being a kid and having fun!!

A big thanks to everyone who donates and supports Kellsie's Hope Foundation. You helped Davion and his family forget about his cancer and enjoy being together.

Alycia Wins a Nursing Scholarship

Nursing has a special place in the heart of the Kellsie’s Hope Foundation.  Founder, Kellsie Marchbanks, was pursuing her passion of becoming a nurse when her cancer interrupted that dream.  To celebrate her passion, Kellsie’s Hope awards several yearly nursing scholarships, each with special attributes.  We are pleased to share that Alycia Burley from St. Louis Children’s Hospital was awarded a $1,000.00 scholarship to contribute towards her pursuit of her dual degree of a Master’s of Science in Nursing and a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.

For the last 7 years, Alycia has worked as a pediatric oncology nurse.  Alycia shared, “ I have experienced the true joys of caring for such a special population of young people”. One of the things she likes most about being a pediatric oncology nurse is getting to know the patients and their families by providing the support they need through the long treatment process and their frequent trips to the hospitals.  As a nurse, Alycia not only focuses on taking vital signs, doing dressing changes, giving medications, and critically thinking through a patient’s medical situation, she also has seen the value of doing even little things that make the lives of both the patient and their family brighter.   Alycia wants to continue working with pediatric oncology patients after she graduates in Fall, 2019.

Thank you Alycia for everything you do to help the kids and their families as they travel through their cancer journey.

Without Kellsie's Hope supporters, we would not be able to help those who want to help others!! Thank you!

Samantha's Nursing Scholarship

Kellsie’s Hope Foundation is proud to introduce you to Samantha Stevens, one of the most recent winners of a $1,000.00 nursing scholarship.  Samantha has been a registered nurse on the hematology/oncology floor at Children’s Hospital for 12 years.  Samantha stated, “ There is a wide range of nursing careers, but this is what she envisioned for my life as a young child”.  Samantha shared the intimate relationship she develops with the patients and their families is why she likes being on the “front lines” of helping people.

Samantha is pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing to stay current in the nursing field and to be equipped to provide the best care possible for the children on the hematology/oncology floor.  In addition to working at Children’s Hospital and school, Samantha has 3 small children of her own.

Congratulations Samantha and good luck as you balance helping your patients, pursuing your BSN and parenting your kids.  Thank you for all you do!!

States of Hope

We are so excited to see all of the pink and gold on our Kellsie's Hope map...Thank you!!  The States of Hope Campaign's goal is to spread awareness of childhood cancer, one of Kellsie's dreams of her foundation. We are so close to keeping that dream alive in her memory, but we need help. There are only 4 states that need to raise awareness of childhood cancer before September 30, Wyoming, Vermont, Maine and Rhode Island.  A minimum donation of $5 will turn a state pink.  If you know someone in any of these states, please ask them to donate from their state and help spread the word so we can give HOPE to children with cancer.

Please click on the map for more information and to make a donation.   Thank you for your ongoing support of Kellsie's Hope Foundation and helping keep Kellsie's dream alive!!
