Taylor's Ride

Twenty-one year old Taylor, from Canton, MO, was surprised when Santa drove up at the 2018 Trees of Hope event in November and presented her with a new customized golf cart.   Taylor’s expression was unforgettable as she sat behind the wheel of her teal colored golf cart complete with her monogram and eyelashes on the headlights! The look on her face was priceless and everyone who attended Trees of Hope was able to share granting a wish.

Taylor shared her thankfulness in a note:
Dear Kellsie's Hope Foundation, You all are AMAZING! Thank you for granting my wish of a golf cart and then going above and beyond on making that happen.  I was not expecting to be surprised at Trees of Hope! Thank you all for volunteering, planning and working hard to make dreams come true for young adults like myself. You all make us feel like we are not alone and that we are normal, even during the most abnormal time in our lives. I'm so thankful for Kellsie's Hope Foundation! Thank you to everyone for making my dreams come true.

Ava's Hawaiian Wish

Ten year old Ava's wish to go to Maui brought smiles to her face even while she was planning her trip. Ava's mom shared that planning the trip gave Ava something to focus on and helped her get through everything. At just 10 years old, Ava has already battled her cancer, Wilms Tumor, twice, so her smiles were great to see.  Dolphins, the beach, zip lining, waterfalls, surfing, and hula dancing were just some of the activities that Ava and her family enjoyed together.

Ava's mother stated "it was a trip that allowed the entire family to be together and just focus on us and for a brief time, forget about what was behind us and what lies ahead of us."

Many thanks to everyone who supports and donates to Kellsie's Hope Foundation. Without you, we could not give wonderful memories and experiences that help children focus on having fun and not on their cancer journey.

Bad to the Bone Chili Cook Off

Kellsie’s Hope Foundation took some of the chill out of October by hosting the Third Annual Bad to the Bone Chili Cook Off in memory of Sam Merkel at the Moose Lodge in Edwardsville, Illinois. Participants enjoyed beer, chili, hot dogs, live music, raffles and silent auction bidding as they tasted over 10 different types of chili and voted on their favorite. Thanks to everyone's support and generosity, $40,000 was raised and donated to help find a cure for Osteosarcoma!

Thanks to Dawn and everyone who volunteered and attended.  Your support is helping find a cure for childhood cancers like Osteosarcoma.

The 4th Annual Bad to the Bone Chili Cook off will be in February, 2020.  You have plenty of time to perfect your chili recipes!!

5K and Virtual 5K

Since September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month, we can't think of a better time to "Sock it to Cancer".  Kellsie's Hope Foundation held is 7th annual Sock it to Cancer 5KWalk/Run in Drost Park in Maryville. Kellsie's hometown was the perfect setting for this event.  The Kellsie’s Hope banners were displayed throughout the Village and welcomed everyone who came.

Kellsie's Hope also added a virtual 5K that was managed by Kellsie's sister, Hannah, since she was not able to attend in person. The virtual 5K was the entire month of September and included anyone who lived out of state or was not able to attend on September 23.  Virtual 5K participants received a t-shirt and a medal, also.
Both runs had 230 participants and raised $8,000.00 to help "Sock It To Cancer".

Many thanks to sponsors, donors, supporters, volunteers and participants involved in making the runs a big success!
