Crochet Borders for Knitters

Armed with a few basic crochet stitches, knitters can create borders that tame unruly stockinette, eliminate the need for facings, or add a quick finishing touch to nearly any project. Cross the knit/crochet divide and learn to add simple yet elegant crocheted borders to your knitting. 

You’ll learn:
  • How to use the simplest stitches like single crochet and double crochet, to create fabulous borders.
  • How to calculate the right number of stitches for your border. The importance of creating a foundation for your border.
  • How to turn corners while staying in pattern.
  • How to select the right style of border for your projects.
We’ll provide: Detailed handout and 3 hour class.

Materials List: 4 swatches using smooth yarn such as Cascade 220 (24 stitches by 30 rows), 4 colors of worsted weight yarn for borders - ($15 kit available if you need worsted weight yarn for borders), crochet hook (size G for 220), 4 split ring stitch markers, scissors, tapestry needle.
