We're excited to offer a selection of audio and printed matter from Anna Luisa Petrisko, a Los Angeles-based Filipina American multidisciplinary artist working in music, video and performance. Limited edition releases in cassettes (Body Ship) with local legends White Boy Scream, India Cooke and Brian Tester, and new age pop (Energy), a 7” vinyl split with artist Adee Roberson on Practical Records featuring Barry Brannum and Sarah Gail in a performance that channels House legend Jamie Principle.
Alongisde these limited edition releases is the beautifully printed riso book The Body Bends in Space designed by Kristian Henson of Philppines based conceptual design studio Hardworking Goodlooking, a printed accompaniment to Vibration Group, an experimental opera initially performed in 2019 that presents a set of physical and mental exercises meant to deepen one's connection to self, community, and environment.
Velour Afternoon's Brian Bartus and prolific Vietnamese-Chinese illustrator Kris Chau come together to create sounds inspired from spiritual jazz and psychedelic folk with moments of bossa nova dream pop interspersed. Feelings of early Velvet Underground, Don Cherry and Martin Denny. Each sleeve with illustrations from Chau and lovingly handstamped, comes in 3 color options.
