How You Can Support the Reading & Dyslexia Handbook Legislation

The bills, HB 718 and SB 575, are sponsored by Del. Eric Luedtke & Sen. Katie Frye Hester. DDMD appreciates their support for schools and families who work with striving readers and students with dyslexia. The legislation is an investment in pulling the best practices for reading and dyslexia into an accessible resource for districts and parents.

How can you help?

Use the Advocacy Tool Kit to find your state legislators and reach out to them. Share your dyslexia story and let your elected officials know how a Dyslexia Handbook will help Maryland educators and families.

The legislation, SB 575, will be heard in the Senate Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs Committee tomorrow, Tuesday, March 3rd. The Committee hearings start at 1 pm and is broadcast via the Senate EHE committee's livestream.  Look for the committee name, Senate Education, Health and Environmental Affairs, then look for a camera icon or the word LIVE in red.  Click on the camera to watch live beginning at 1pm.
