Hearing on the Blueprint Legislation on Monday (2/17) at Noon
Rally & Hearing, Blueprint for Education

Monday,  February 17th
On Monday, Decoding Dyslexia Maryland will wear royal blue and join with coalition partners, parents, teachers, students, and legislators to show our support for the legislation known as The Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. This is the most important legislation being debated by our leaders in Annapolis.

This legislation (HB1300/SB1000) provides a once-in-a-generation opportunity to improve our schools and make them stronger for our families, our teachers, our workers, and our communities.

There will be a big pep rally on February 17th in Annapolis. Supporters will gather at 10:00 am in the rotunda of the House Office Building to take a group picture before moving outside for a quick pep rally to show support for the recommendations. The invited speakers include Dr. Kirwan, a parent, teacher and student. Can you wear royal blue and join us? Let us know if you can make it by sending an email to

After the rally, supporters will fill the seats in the Joint Hearing Room in the Legislative Services Building.  The Senate hearing for SB 1000 will convene at 12:00.   The Senate Budget & Taxation Committee and the Senate Education, Health and Environmental Affairs Committee will hear the bill jointly. There may be several locations to watch the hearing if you are in town.  You are welcome to come for all or part of the day.  If you can't make it to Annapolis, you can watch the hearing live from the MDGA website.
