As you would be aware Narooma Surf Life Saving Club held its annual general meeting last month.  We are very appreciative of each of the committee members who accepted their nominations allowing the club continued success.

Many familiar faces have returned for another season and we are very excited to welcome new committee members, Cally Hannah, Shaun Jorgensen, Carla Durnan and Monica Bird.

We are delighted to announce that Jon Carruthers has been appointed as our new President. Jon has been an active member within our club and our committee for many years and we look forward to supporting him in his new role as President. You would know Jon as one of our clubs reliable patrolling members, as an enthusiastic surf boat rower, as our former Gear Steward, as a regular at almost all social events and as a water safety member at Nippers. Jon generously volunteers his time on Sundays despite his children having grown up past the age of 14. A wonderful role model to have as our 'el Presidente'.

It is without doubt that Jon will have big shoes to fill. Ben Bate has stepped down as our fearless leader after serving for many prosperous years. Most notably, Ben has been instrumental in the construction of our new storage shed, completed last season. Ben has put tireless hours driving the project from it's initial design stages through to the finished product we see today. Ben will not be a stranger, he will continue to be an active member of the club and will concentrate his efforts on education as our Training Officer.

We welcome Cally Hannah as a new member of the club. Cally will be a valuable asset as our Grants Officer and member of the committee with her law background.

Shaun Jorgensen is an active member of the club, he and his beautiful family have been involved with the club for many years. We look forward to the contribution that Shaun will bring in his new role as Gear Steward, he will have a bit more room to manage our equipment with the extra storage space we now have.

Narooma Nippers are very fortunate to have Carla Durnan and Monica Bird at the helm this season. Both Carla and Monica have been exceptional age managers for the club for the last few years and have been awesome help behind the scenes as well. We anticipate that this dedicated duo will bring a new evolution to our Narooma Nippers culture, growth and development.
