take our retail survey and help chart the future of the triangle

As recently reported in the Washington Business Journal, retailers are moving east, with MVT named as one of “the five DC neighborhoods retailers should be fawning over.” The news on Friday about Texas de Brazil taking the 9,400 sf space at 455 Mass is a great case in point. It has been clear for a while that strong demographics are attracting new retail interest in the neighborhood. We want your input to help guide our work with retailers and their brokers. Please complete our survey to have a voice in the future of retail in the MVT.

boston properties at 501 k

Boston Properties has announced that they are joining with longtime MVT owner and developer Steuart Investments to develop 501 K Street. From the company’s press release: “The joint venture has hired Shalom Baranes Associates to design a state-of-the-art, 11-story, office and retail building for the site totaling approximately 520,000 rentable square feet. The building will be designed to encourage the establishment of high performance workspaces and to respond to the changing ways in which a diverse group of progressive companies are utilizing office space. Virtually column free, and with spans of 45 feet from core to glass, the floors will be efficient for a wide array of space utilization types. At the ground floor, the building will have approximately 28,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, adding to the already vibrant, mixed-use environment in the Mount Vernon Triangle. Design is underway and construction on the building could begin as soon as early 2015 for delivery in 2017.”
