Caesarea Golf Club On the Green מהדורה מס. 12 – יולי 2019
UPDATES FROM HOME – CAESAREA GOLF CLUB
We are pleased to announce that the Club added Shmulik Futeran to its staff of Marshals on July 1. Shmulik, of course, is familiar to most of the golfing community in Israel, bringing with him a great deal of experience and professionalism. Shmulik joins Marshal Guy Topaz. Together with Guy, he will be responsible for maintaining proper conduct on the course and providing service to members as quickly as possible.
Please help us to welcome Shmulik by adhering to all guidelines, principles of etiquette and rules.
As previously announced, we have acquired the rights to use GOLF BOX software for tournament and handicap management. This software is considered among the best and most popular in the world. Last week we completed the transfer of the database of all Club members to the new software, and we started the first stage of its use during the Club Championship during which you could watch the results LIVE on the Club's screens.
Now we are happy and proud to launch the handicap revolution at Caesarea Golf Club, enabling all of us to manage transparent, fair and up-to-date handicaps. From today, each member will be able to input game results from a cellular phone directly into the handicap system.
Inputting results is simple and user friendly and is accomplished through an app called GOLFBOX IL. The app can be downloaded from the Google or Apple app store.
The Club sent each member an SMS with the member's username and personal password along with a page of instructions accompanied by pictures. Members who have not received an SMS may contact the Club's offices in order to obtain their username and password. Members who need further guidance are invited to contact any of our staff members who will be happy to assist you.
In order to help all new members to be absorbed into the Club in the smoothest way possible, the Club decided to allocate the necessary resources in all respects.
Of course, the professional aspect is very important. The Club decided to offer free professional clinics, which will be conducted by our Head Professional on a variety of days and dates.
Each week there will be three clinics on different subjects:
Week 1 - Putting
Week 2 - Driver
Week 3 - Chipping
Each clinic will include a number of topics related to the new golf rules that took effect in 2019, as well as a range of topics related to etiquette and game management.
We are pleased to announce that the new maintenance equipment purchased by the Club at the cost of NIS 2 Million was put into service this month in all the agro-technical activities we performed, including aeration of the greens and thinning of the fairways. The positive results are already being seen in the growth and renewal of grass. It can certainly be said that the Club, as promised in the past, will spare no expense in order to take significant steps to ensure high quality grass throughout the year.
This week we moved down to the lower grassy area of the practice range. At the same time, we will be renovating the upper area that was in use for an extended period.
The new vehicles that arrived at the Club last month have upgraded the game experience for everyone. The vehicles are equipped with a GPS system that deactivates the motor within 15 meters of the green. After a month, we can see that preventing vehicles from entering the areas surrounding the greens has dramatically improved the condition of grass in areas that were previously destroyed by cart tires. (Now it is certain that those who cannot make good chip shots are invited to take a lesson from the professional staff. J) We ask all members to drive the vehicles carefully, keep them in good working order and, to the greatest extent possible, maintain their cleanliness.
Lockers for storage of electric trolleys:
The new lockers in the area adjacent to the parking lot were completed, and all of them were rented immediately. In view of the additional demand, the Club staff is working on finding additional solutions. We will keep you updated.
Fridays with Golf:
In the second quarter of the year, we continued our efforts to recruit potential new golfers who came to us from different areas in Israel after successful marketing of the program. We are proud to inform you that the success of "Fridays with Golf" continues to grow, and we are enrolling many new students in our series of lessons. The Club invests heavily in this activity for the future of golf in Israel, and sees this as an important element of our success as the leading body for Israeli golf.
Children in Golf:
We are pleased to announce that the Club, together with the Caesarea School, agreed to renew the children's golf project, which has already brought to the Club exceptional players such as Leticia Beck, Hadas Liebman and Yair Thaler.
Beginning in September, 60 fourth-grade children from the school will come to the Club once a week for a combined training session. Our goal, of course, is for as many children as possible to enroll in the Club's Golf Academy and adopt the way of life of the wonderful game we all love. We will continue to update you.
Golfer of the Month:
Yoni Sidi won the title of Golfer of the Month for the first time with 79 points in his two best rounds; Ernie Vitkin finished 4 points back. Yoni won a prestigious trophy and a luxurious prize.
We remind you that prizes are awarded every week to first-place winners in the competition. We encourage all of you to participate.
