Special Training: South Ogden Fire Department was able to send Chief West, Deputy Chief Rasmussen, and Captain Bronson to participate in a very beneficial training at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg Maryland. This training is provided and paid for through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. This 10-day course focused on managing the effective allocation of resources and fiscal assets to improve service risk reduction and sustainability outcomes. It also introduced a method to evaluate the impact of changes in resources levels on performance goals and outcomes.
The course demonstrated how to identify and prioritize resource needs and create decision packages that align resources and funding with the most effective approach to risk reduction outcomes. With the knowledge and experiences gained during this 2 week training, South Ogden City and specifically the Fire Department is better equipped to provide for the citizens of our community today and into the future.
