Hello SJS Parents,
I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend! At SJS we hosted a faculty retreat this past Tuesday. The staff was able to take a day to reflect, recharge, and grow closer to Christ. These moments away from the regular business of the school day help us to stay focused on our top priority; partnering to help your kids grow in their academics and their relationship with Christ.
We have a lot going on this weekend and next week. It kicks off with our FSA Tailgate Party. Then Monday's Digital Citizenship Conference for our Jr. High students and the night session for parents. Then we round out the week with our SJS athletics department Tip Off night stating at 6pm in the gym.
It is a great day to be a Bulldog!

The Student Leadership is sponsoring a "wear pink day" in support of breast cancer awareness month. Bring $2 (or more) on Thursday, Oct. 20 to wear a pink shirt with uniform bottoms to support the Brest Cancer Foundation.

Sleeping Bag Drive
Oct. 22-28
The Seminarians at Mundelein ask your help in donating new or gently used sleeping bags and mats to be distributed directly to homeless on Lower Wacker Drive, the day-laborers in Chicago, and Our Lady of the Angels Mission. Drop off locations are at the church on Oct. 22-23 or in the Parish or school offices Oct. 24-28.

Oct. 21 | 6pm
We invite all students and families to join us for Tip Off on Friday, Oct. 21 at 6pm in the Parish Center (gym). Tickets are $20 per family this year and can be purchased here in advance. Cash only at the door and for pizza concessions. This fundraiser is supporting our new athletic uniforms, shooting shirts for basketball and miscellaneous athletic equipment in need of replacement. Price also includes a student gift!

Volunteer Opportunity
Thank you to those who have already volunteered! We are still looking for a couple more days if anyone else is able to help.
The school is looking for FIVE volunteers to help the younger grades navigate the hot lunch line during lunch periods. The hours are 12:15p - 1:15p and we would need volunteers who could commit to a minimum of one day/week. (One person would volunteer every Monday, another on Tuesdays etc.)
This would be a huge help to ensure that the little ones can get through the lunch line and have enough time to eat. Please contact FSA if you are interested in helping out: sjsfsa@stjamesschoolah.org.
