Please make sure your children have time to eat a nutritious breakfast every day and comes to school dressed in layers that are easily removed as body temperature fluctuates. This is important every day, but especially on Wednesdays when we participate in all school mass. We would like your help to ensure our students have a healthy start to the day. 

School picture day is coming on Monday, Oct. 3. This is an out of uniform day for the students. Please click here for order form information.

Battle of the Books is a program sponsored by the SJS Library that encourages students to read great books from a list of 12 nominated titles.

In the Spring, students will compete on a team with classmates answering questions about the nominated books. Students compete within their homerooms and then battle all homeroom champions in their grade level range for the grand champion.

At the end of the Battles, students will vote for their favorite book on the list, which will then receive the 2023 Bulldog Book Award!

Children Rosary, led by children, takes place every Monday, right after school, at 3:45pm at church. 

Each year, the month of October is traditionally dedicated to the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We will be having special prayers each week in October. We are requesting your support by encouraging our children, family and friends to participate the Holy Rosary on every Monday.

Save the date for our upcoming parent presentation regarding online safety featuring special guest, Detective Richard Wistocki.

Special Lunch Reopen

Our first Special Lunch for the year is Friday, 9/30. 

Due to the addition of field trips and the timing of our sign up - we will reopen the sign up from 10/1 - 10/5. Click here to order.

**If your student has a field trip on a special lunch day, their lunch will be served the day before the field trip! You can add a few dates to your order or if you missed the original window - now is your chance to sign up! 

This is a ONE-TIME order for the whole school year, so don't miss your chance to treat your student(s) to a fun lunch. And remember, proceeds from Special Lunch go towards covering Special Lunch meals for our hard-working faculty and staff. 

The school is looking for FIVE volunteers to help the younger grades navigate the hot lunch line during lunch periods. The hours are 12:15p - 1:15p and we would need volunteers who could commit to a minimum of one day/week. (One person would volunteer every Monday, another on Tuesdays etc.) 

This would be a huge help to ensure that the little ones can get through the lunch line and have enough time to eat. Please contact FSA if you are interested in helping out: sjsfsa@stjamesschoolah.org.

Each month we will work with a local restaurant who will donate a percentage of their profits back to SJS! Thanks to Kristene Thieman and Sarah Macklin for heading up this committee!

Family Movie Night was a HIT! Thank you to everyone who joined us for Family Movie Night and a special thank you to Tammy Walberg who made the event happen! It was the perfect, cozy fall night!

The SJS Directory will be coming soon! Our goal is to pass out the directory before our next FSA meeting in November!
