Orkney International Science Festival Online and Free in 2020

We’re writing to let you know that this year’s Orkney International Science Festival is going ahead – in a new format.
We’ll be in action as planned through the seven days of 3-9 September but with one difference: the Festival will be staged entirely online.
With the coronavirus situation restricting travel and public gatherings, we will use technology to bring the Festival to you in your own home.
To access the Festival this year, you will need only a broadband connection.
As an added bonus access this year will be free of charge. A programme featuring a range of freely available online talks, as well as some of the Festival's favourite annual features, is in preparation.
We’re working on ways to make the experience as atmospheric as possible, with virtual walks and outings included. More details will be coming soon as well as updates to the website.
A preview of some forthcoming events is available in our online magazine Frontiers, and more will follow.
We hope that you'll join us in September for what will be the 30th Festival, reaching out to bring people and ideas together from many places.
