It's that time of year again to put some FUN back into GIVING on Sadaqa : Charity Day 17th April. In the lead up to Sadaqa : Charity Day we have various challenges and community events that will help you get closer to the glorious Creator.
40 DOORS
40 doors is a challenge based on the sayings of Rasulillah SAW where he promoted people to take care of 40 of their neighbours (in all directions). So we are asking all of you to visit at least 40 of your neighbours and introduce yourself and ask your fellow street dwellers if they need any help.
Around 15% of the prison population are Muslim, some of which have been out-casted by their families. We are encouraging volunteers to come and spend some time with the prisoners and to go beyond judgement to understand the reality of different people’s lives. Please get in contact with info@sadaqacharityday.com for dates available to visit prisoners.
Sadaqa : Charity Day have organised the Roaming Rack of Rags and Riches where a mobile clothes rack will visit various regions and will allow people to give what they don’t want and people to take what they need.
Are you up for a whole weekend of pure indulgent goodness? Well we have the perfect Easter weekend planned for you. Join us on Sunday March 27th where we will meet and greet 40 of our neighbours by conducting the 40 DOORS challenge. This will be followed by an Old Peoples Party for a residential care home in Northwood (north London). Once you have spent time with the elderly you will be traipsing round central London collecting clothes on our Roaming Rack of Rags & Riches. And if that’s not enough for you we will then feed the homeless, where those in need can take any clothes they may require. Followed by a very short break the Sadaqa : Charity Day team led by Amir Massoumian and Shabbir Khan will be cycling from London to Calais to feed the refugees and will come back on their bikes on Easter Monday 28th March.
If you have what it takes for an angelic weekend, then join us on COM2UNITY challenge on:
Depression is very common with around 1 in 5 people becoming depressed at some point in their lives. Coupled with this domestic abuse is just as common in occurrence with 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men being affected by this issue. Sadaqa : Charity Day will be holding a live show discussing the causes, questions and concerns surrounding teenage depression and domestic abuse among both women and men. Please submit any questions on the below link, which does NOT require any of you contact details.
Live on Safeer TV SKY channel 847 on Friday 15th April at 8pm
5&Over
We are requesting all those children that are turning 5 & over and who are having a birthday party to spare a thought for the 6.6 million children around the world today that do not reach their 5th birthday. Majority of these vulnerable children die from preventable causes like lack of sufficient nutrition and contaminated water.
Why not donate the money spent on 1 birthday gift to a child who is in need of some extra love, care and attention.
Ever thought that you make the world’s best Biryani? Well why not let your community decide, we will have a number of people who attend different Islamic Centres across London to judge which Biryani tastes the best!
To enter the competition there is a £10 entrance fee that will go towards the Food Drive project that will help the vulnerable and needy across the world with some wonderful food!
