Looking Back, Looking Ahead
So much happens in a year that at times it feels like several years, then again, other times it goes by so fast we find ourselves saying, “Oh my! Where did the time go?” October 31st is just about here, the date our market closes for the season. It seems just like yesterday I was filling the gift shop with the treasures we found at the gift shows in January and now we are getting ready for the storewide Gift Shop sale. In addition, we’re making plans for the winter preserve production, pressing apples for juice and putting it away in the freezer for next year. Many things change with a new year, but many things stay the same. We have a solid core of customers that have been supporting our market for decades and every year new families discover us, and their memories begin.
We have core staff that have been with us through the growth and change, they are dedicated staff who are more like family than employees. Mehmood has been Tom’s right-hand man for twenty harvests, Raelene has been working with food in some form or another for more than that. Our farm business is dependent on good people willing to work hard with their hands and produce a multitude of products from the fields, kitchens and bakery.
We are forever grateful for our team, each and every one, the new employees and the familiar ones that feel like family. We are forever grateful for our customers, the support through the years has encouraged us and been a big reason for our growth. Thank you for visiting on the glorious fall days as well as the smoky August days when it would have been easier to stay home. Our produce comes rain, shine or smoke and we are so grateful to have your support through it all. Closing day comes with mixed emotions, but one thing is for sure, we are always excited to open again and welcome you back in the spring.
A sincere thank you for subscribing to our bi-monthly newsletter and supporting our farm business and the many families we employ. We will try and keep in touch over the winter, but newsletters will be less frequent. Rest assured, we are working behind the scenes to improve every year and welcome you back next spring with new and exciting changes. Please feel free to drop us a line anytime, we appreciate your ideas and suggestions!
With gratitude,
Tamra Davison
